Over Twenty States Are Now Suing The Biden Administration Over The Closure Of The Keystone XL Pipeline

It’s still hard to believe that as one of his first acts as president, Joe Biden shut down the Keystone XL Pipeline, killing thousands of good American jobs in the process.

Just think of all the American families whose lives came to a halt instantly, wondering how they would pay for their homes, cars and education for their children.

States started suing almost immediately and some new states have joined the effort, bringing the total to over twenty.

“The Constitution is clear that presidents do not have the power to regulate foreign and interstate commerce or to unilaterally undo an act of Congress,” said Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen, announcing that Alaska and Florida are joining the legal fight.

In the statement, Knudsen said U.S. consumers would benefit the most by the construction of the pipeline — and are subsequently hurt the most by its cancellation.

“The fallout from the Colonial pipeline cyberattack made it very clear that we need more energy infrastructure, not less. The Keystone XL would get more oil, including Montana oil, to American refineries to be sold to American consumers,” he said.

Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody and Alaska Attorney General Treg Taylor were added to a complaint filed with the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas on Thursday, bringing the total number of states in the lawsuit to 23.

At the same time that this is happening, remember that Biden had no problem with Russia having an oil pipeline.

Biden - what a dick head.

It's bad and maybe more needs to be done to replace those jobs.

Species survival matters even more.

@Burnley123 Ohhhhhhhhhhhh! but climate science is all fake! Sorry, this means that they closed the pipeline because of fake science. Stupid me.
@Burnley123 Make them real, make the energy SUSTAINABLE!!!

@Elevatorpitches Fossil fuel is not the energy of the future.

Well, Uncle Joe though learning programming would be a good transfer of skills.

@Budwick It needs a Green New Deal

@Burnley123 I don't understand how people, in politics and in business, don't realise green/renewable energy is the way forward. The investment would be low in relation to job creation and growing profits.

@Budwick a green new deal as Burnley said would work, but as for programming it's actually sound advice. It's one of the most in demand skills and you can work remotely, so the pandemic doesn't affect it.

@jackieash @basilfawlty89

I couldn't agree more. Its about whether as developed countries we can afford not to have a green new deal. The economic cost of climate change (as well as the human cost) will be staggering.

Its about planning for the future, not an imagined past.

And don't forget, all we really want are happy puppies and rainbows.
Get real.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@Budwick Puppies and Rainbows would be denying climate science exists and thinking fossil fuels will last forever.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@Burnley123 So, you admit there will be no happy puppies and rainbows?

Yes, climate change exists.
So does time and gravity.
Nothing we do will change any of them.

@Budwick that's not what the scientific consensus says.
I trust a peer reviewed scientific journal far more than some wingnut right wing rag.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@basilfawlty89 The 'scientific consensus ' is in a world of hurt these days. The 'scientific consensus ' has been caught lying so much recently, that the 'scientific consensus ' is no longer trusted.

I can tell you this, the climate has been changing since there has been climate. Taking out a third of the population, killing off cows, throwing civilization back to the 1800's won't stop climate from changing either. You are on a fools errand.

I'm curious, do you leave copies of your peer reviewed scientific journals out on the coffee table for your scientific consensus types to see?
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
@Budwick Bud, your sources told you that Trump was gonna win the election. That didn't happen. Your sources told you the electoral college would overturn votes. That didn't happen. Your sources said you'd stop the "steal" on January the 6th. That didn't. Your sources said that the supreme court would overturn the election. That didn't happen.

So far my sources really seem more accurate.

Btw...if the planet goes balls up, there's not much of America, humanity or civilisation left. Something to think about while you're arguing for polluting the planet.

I'll let you get back to Alex Jones and the gay frogs now.
