If Americans truly want freedom, less of a police state, and to keep more of their income, and a female president. Why not elect Jo Jorgensen?

Instead they pick another old geriatric dude part of the 2 party establishment

I voted for her last year because I thought she was the best option available. However, while I do consider myself libertarian (with a lowercase “l”), I didn’t like her nearly as much as past Libertarian Party candidates and nominees. I disagree with her stances on immigration and “social justice” issues.

I don't know about everyone else, but here are some of the reasons I did not vote for her:

1. She has no idea what healthcare plan is, and believes people should save up for medical emergencies.

2. Her Covid plan is a laissez-passer attitude with no government intervention.

3. Her social security plan is to eliminate it, suggesting an IRA instead. She also thinks she invented IRAs.

4. She thinks that we're an island, totally isolated from world events, therefore we should withdraw from the world.

5. She could not come up with a slogan of her own, so she "re-purposed" Hillary's "I Am With Her" Presidential campaign slogan.
Peewee Herman and the stooges would make a better cabinet than the existing one..

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout yea were pretty well fucked now
in democracy one person can't do anything much. power is decentralized

Because she's a psychology lecturer. Not a diplomat, representative, elected official, analyst of international trade...

She might have views that align with many, and she may be a natural leader, but if I worry about an electrical wiring hazard in my home, I don't hire a glass blower to fix the problem. I don't have a rancher pilot my airliner, I don't trust an architect to perform surgery.

Old doesn't mean feeble or weak or in any way lesser. Age embodies wisdom, practical experience, a lifetime of learning and the social tools to work on a grand stage. And I'm going to assume you accepted your stimulus check.

Nuke the swamp.. thats what my slogan will be. Elect me and they all die.
I know nothing about her. I’m less concerned about a candidate’s age, gender or race than I am about the things their platform supports.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
The reason is so obviously simple. Someone performed so badly that they had to make certain a well established candidate would win. And not a relatively unknown person.

Because a lot are sheep and that's why they won't vote outside of old white dudes on both sides.
Graylight · 51-55, F
@SatanBurger When it comes right down to it, Republican or Democrat, people tend to be moderate when voting for real. What other parties need to do to help them is stop being niche parties catering to one or two causes.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@Graylight Agreed, not like your criticism isn't legit. There's pros and cons to all political parties.

But the reason I say that most are just sheep is that one has to realize that the majority of people tend to be one issue voters.

They'll vote if they find that one issue worth voting for but it's kind of a catch 22 for multiple reasons.

If there's an independent candidate that has good ideas, most people wouldn't bother for the fact of being one issue voters.
Graylight · 51-55, F
@SatanBurger Well, there's a point to be made there, too. I'm all for multiple parties, but I'd love it if more of them brought something more substantial to the table.

What Americans want is not doable, but that doesn't mean they don't want it. Americans want lots of great gov't benefits AND freedom AND lower taxes. That's why Trump promised all kinds of freebies. Trump:
Promised a tax cut that pays for itself;
Promised to replace Obamacare with something better and cheaper that covers everyone;
Promised a trillion dollars worth of infrastructure spending;
Promised "We're going to see economic growth of 4, 5 & maybe 6%!";
Promised to reduce deficit and eventually balance the budget;

Now he couldn't deliver any of that, but it's what his voters wanted.
