San Francisco, The Capitol Of The Land Of Fruits And Nuts, Launches Taxpayer Funded Public Defender Office Dedicated To Illegal Immigrants

You can’t make this stuff up.

To our complete ‘shock’, the liberal bastion of California’s northern shores has just announced that it will create a brand new tax-payer funded branch of the Public Defender’s office to specifically defend illegal immigrants (key word being illegal), including gang members, in deportation cases. Adding insult to injury, taxpayers will have to pony up an additional $200,000 each year to cover the cost of 3 public defenders and a paralegal, all of whom will be dedicated to making sure that federal laws are ignored.

5th largest economy on the planet...

@2cool4school That was from a Forbes article written in 2019. I think things may have changed in the past 2 years.

California has lost so much population fleeing Newsome's lockdowns and irrational regulations, and the high cost of housing, that they have lost two congressional seats.
That HAS to have had some impact on the economy as a whole.

@4meAndyou hmm 🤔 do you live in Ca ??

@2cool4school
they have lost two congressional seats.
Newsome is being recalled.

It's not a pissing contest. Just saying that Forbes may have said what they said in 2019, but after the pandemic, can they say the same?

@4meAndyou perhaps you don’t understand how the California economy works... hint it’s not about the amount of perceived people “leaving” or the number of people migrating to. The reason for the ranking ahead of India and behind Germany has more to do with what’s designed and often exported in many forms.

@4meAndyou I assure you that I have no interest in urination contests.
I’m simply stating that California is in a unique situation for the debate at any time. And it would not be the first time in my lifetime a governor was recalled. I’m just not sure how it all actually matters to you if you don’t live there.

@2cool4school Unfortunately Tesla and several other drivers of your large economy have left in disgust.

And yet I don’t think Silicon Valley will run low on new things to sell the rest of the world on. I’m just not sure if you understand how unique California has always been. They’er (most states in the USA) legalizing one of the most expensive consumer crops and guess what?? They want to grow kilo hectares of cannabis in the California sun and the $$$ well I think you can do the math even if you can’t see logic.

@Stereoguy no the southern states do that. As one person said on here they get back 99 percent of what they pay in n Kentucky was getting back a dollar and a half for every dollar they put in. I think Mississippi gets 2 dollars back for every dollar they put in. Makes you think the Republican party style of taxation would break the country if we followed how they do it in the south.

@Stereoguy They're trying to point out that while California bankrolls the system due to having the most powerful economy in the country, states like Kentucky and Mississippi are low performers that are sucking up federal aid dollars, unable to pull their weight. Then they whine about Californians - some of the last people in this country who remember how to work.

@Stereoguy you are dead wrong about that

Perhaps this one? Of course the cool aid drinking sheep who claim to be so “open and tolerant” seem to also be closed and defensive no matter what evidence is handed to them. @Stereoguy

@Stereoguy No reason to sell anything - reality does that for me. How did this conversation start? 5th largest economy on the planet...
