Are Americans addicted to Trump? ~

The election was two weeks ago, and the key state projections that made it clear that Joe Biden is our president-elect are 10 days old. But Donald Trump is still coursing through our veins, isn't he?

All the signatures of Trump intoxication - the rush of indignation, the paranoid agitation, the hallucinatory blur of endless news cycles - are still powerfully in effect in American life.

It is one last surprise that he is managing to tighten his grip on the consciousnesses of those who loathe him, no less than his supporters, even as he is about to become just another former president.

He's a publicity whore. It's how he's always been. This entire election has become a fiasco and embarrassment as far as I'm concerned. Everyone needs to do the right thing and move along. ATM, I'm more interested in what else is going on in the world, which isn't easy to find because the news media here is all about Trump, Biden, and Covid-19.
My guess is he'll never be just another former President, tbh.

Hopefully, we will move on and start actually dealing with stuff like COVID and everything else, but I don't think the crazies Trump has stirred up are going to suddenly disappear, myself included.

It's going to take time, for the electors, the inauguration, and even if Trump is out of office, there's a lot of clean up to be done, and a whole lot of civil and criminal litigation still to play out before Trump himself is out of the limelight, let alone various aspects of Trumpism.

Is hard not to be impatient, but I do think we're making progress.

It took 37 days for the Bush-Gore thing to be resolved. I guess you don’t remember that do you?
akindheart · 61-69, F
@RedBaron i wouldn't count on it. Congress just announced that the WINNER has NOT been decided. who is the master of smoke and mirrors?? the DEMS
RedBaron · M
@akindheart Congress has nothing to do with deciding the outcome unless the electoral vote is tied, which it most definitely isn't. Didn't you study Civics when you went to school? There is no reasonable path to victory for Trump. Biden won fair and square, just as Trump did in 2016, and that's all there is to it.
Heartlander · 80-89, M
@RedBaron

Per a quick Google check, following the 2016 presidential election, there were calls for recounts in 5 states. And as I recall, there was Democrat hope in preventing Trump from becoming the president elect until the electoral college voted.

Afterwards Democrats shifted their focus from upending the election to cooking up their hoax about the Russians.

Polarising Demagogue gets into office and turns it into a reality-show by constantly looking for controversial things to do so he can be in the middle of the attention. People suck that stuff up, no matter how dumb it gets, there is always someone cheering for Snooki and someone that gets triggered that moronic behavior gets put on a pedestal. It's a spectacle looking like a dumpsterfire, and people keep sucking it up.
MoonlightLullaby · 41-45, F
Biden isn't President elect just yet. That was deemed by the AP, and holds no merit. Only the people have the fair say come January, if this mess is sorted out by then. Facts and coincidences surrounding the entire ballot system are clearly evident, but we still want to call it all "no evidence". Imo, everyone; left & right should be concerned about democracy being under threat.

Anyone can let their leftist flames lose on me, I refuse to argue here.

Trump is OK. It's more like I'm allergic to Democrats and what they are planning to do to us.

Neither Biden nor anyone else becomes president elect until the electoral college meets and votes, which won't be until December 14th. For those concerned about the possible next administration having little time to get their people in place and in the know, it's pretty obvious that there are plenty of Democrats still deeply planted within the federal government to keep the Biden and company aware of what's happening there, along with the New York Times and the Washington Post.

As I recall from 2016, electoral college members were pressured by Democrats until the last minute before they voted to vote for Hillary Clinton rather than follow their state law to vote the people's wishes.

As far as Biden is concerned, there is reliable and compelling evidence that Joe Biden and his family reaped substantial financial profits from selling access to the US government with Biden's own son serving as their bagman.

If Biden does indeed become president elect and president, I would hope that members of the US senate will be extra cautious about confirming any appointments that would serve to cover up the Biden misdeeds or in any other way facilitate future profiteering by the Biden family.

If Biden does make it to the white house, he got there by riding lies.

Now it's my turn to say: BIDEN? NOT MY PRESIDENT!
Heartlander · 80-89, M
Trump rarely gives a speech, he instead has conversations with the audience. With that he gets 3 to 4 stars. Sometimes 5 stars.
RedBaron · M
@Heartlander As opposed, of course, to your desperate hope that Trump can somehow ride his lies about a so-called stolen election to a second term.

@Tres13 Again like I said though, you probably believe everything that the MSM says about Trump rivals/opponents though. You just proved my point.

All media, regardless of political lean, is attracted to disaster, drama and noise. They give oxygen to this damaged soul who literally cannot exist without drama and grievance.

I think by now we have all noticed the deep divide in our country. In my own case, my user name reflects my addiction. I want what is best for my country and all people everywhere. However, I reserve the right to THINK about what REALLY would be best.

It is not Biden. If Harris takes over while he is in office, it is definitely not Harris.

What these two will do, in fact, is return us to the horrible conditions we experienced once before, where you could not GET a job unless you already had one, companies tended to hire from within, and belts were so tight that it didn't take much to cause small businesses to go under.

Biden was 76th in a class of 85 at his law school. He is NOT very bright. All he has is a group of hard left Progressive advisors who will do their best to destroy our economy.

The news cycle has been feasting for years and sense it is all drying up.
We are just in love with having a man in the WH that knows what he is doing. Is Biden going to measure up ?
Virgo79 · 61-69, M
@MarmeeMarch scary isn't it
@Virgo79 But predictable - the liberal white man is the ass kissing specialist in this nation.
Virgo79 · 61-69, M
@MarmeeMarch i cant argue that

They are addicted to strong emotions that he probably brings out..like hate and loath or whatever. Some people stick to any emotions, even addicted to pain, as long as they feel something 🤔🤔🤔

He tweets a couple days ago "I won the election!"
Omfg, I spit out my Red Bull when I read that! WTH?!
SubstantialKick · 31-35, M
The election is over, Trump is out, Biden is in. It seems to be a bitter pill to swallow for some of his supporters.
SubstantialKick · 31-35, M
@akindheart Well the fact is that some of you Trump supporters need to stop whining and crying and just move on with your lives already because it is getting absolutely ridiculous. Biden won fair and square. Deal with it.
akindheart · 61-69, F
@SubstantialKick i am NOT moving on until the election is officially called by the powers to be. NOT YOU>
SubstantialKick · 31-35, M
@akindheart If you step out of that bubble you will see you that it has already been called 😂.

@MarmeeMarch Although Trump won by an even smaller margin in 2016 FWIW.
