The Recount
I remember when I was younger and Al Gore requested a recount after losing the election. I also remember people acting like that was the biggest shit someone could possibly take on democracy. My god, I miss those days. 馃槅

Having lost Florida by less than 30,000 votes (less than half the capacity of Ben Hill Griffin Stadium) in a State with 14 million registered voters where the winner gets ALL the electoral votes.....a recount should have been expected.
Several candidates over the years have requested recounts....Nixon asked for one in Illinois in the 1960 election.
Any time there鈥檚 a close vote in a State which could affect the overall election, a recount should be allowed....even though I haven鈥檛 seen one that鈥檚 reversed the results, to deny a recount would be wrong.
