Trump FY 2020 Budget Deficit Sets Record--More Than Twice The Former Largest Deficit In History!

Well MAGA folks, you've got it! Trump DID run the country like his businesses! His FY 2020 Budget Deficit of $3.1 trillion was more than twice the largest deficit in history coming out of the Bush/Republican Great Recession of 2008-2011 ($1.41 trillion). That's as much in one Trump Year as in the last five Obama Years! And you MAGA hatters and everyone else get to pay it back! For those of you Trump cultists that still believe in or can do math, that's $9,600 for every man, woman, and child in the nation added to your debt just this past fiscal year! MAGA!

Yeah, But that's mostly liberal covid pork You idiot !
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@Majorsite You can use that idea in 2020, because of COVID.

But if there is one thing this president absolutely didn't care about from the beginning, it's the national deficit. He kept deficit spending high even during an economic boom. And when asked about it, even said that the US shouldn't care about it because they would never default, why default if you can just "print money".
@Majorsite So by that reasoning, the deficits in Obama's first term were due to the George W. Bush recession. And if Biden is president next year, I'm sure you'll grant him the same consideration.

@Kwek00 The way He got our economy going was unprecidented, Even better than Regan !
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@Majorsite And Trump never signs the laws authorizing spending, does he? Oh wait, he does!

@Majorsite There's absolutely no reason to call someone an idiot when you simply disagree with them.
liberal covid pork
Where exactly does that expenditure stem from? Didn't Trump take credit for the Covid stimulus package?
Majorsite · 61-69, M
@LeopoldBloom No, That was His bullshit "shovel ready" jobs giveaway !
@Majorsite You're the clueless idiot. The tax scam for the rich and the free tax ride for over 500 of the largest businesses in America cost our national treasury $2.6 trillion the first year it went into effect. In the first 2 years in office trump doubled out national debt--after he lied to you and told you he would pay it off in one year. That is why there was no Infrastructure Bill that trump promised---another lie. NOTHING to pay for it with. Just because trumpers have some kind of "protect Donnie my gay lover" syndrome of refusing to believe ANY truth told about him and how he has fucked over America don't mean any of it is a lie. It's only a lie if you deceive yourself. The same facts I quote...that the guy who made this original comment made are all public record. The GAO....the people trump himself appointed...has these figures on the national PUBLIC website. As long as all of you in the cult choose to be clueless.....you'll stay clueless. The rest of can see thru this corrupt, grifting con artist.

@SW-User Yes, His payment to workers, But He had to take the Democrat pork to get it through, Thank God He got over that finally and basically told them to get screwed !

@Majorsite The economy was in a dump wheb George Bush went away. Obama had to deal with an economy in rescession in hist first year, then it went up again. And when it really started booming had to give it to Donald. Donald kept stimulations high during that boom Majorsite.

Now, you can say that you think that's great, because the economy was doing alright... and that's perfectly fine if you want to do that. However, if this was 5 years ago, the libertarian/neo-classical vieuw on economies that republicans were promoting since the 80s, would have severly disagreed with Trumps' management of something that is for a big part of out of his hands.

This idea that presidents can claim that they themselves are the sole reason an economy is doing good or bad during their term, is kinda stupid. Since they are largely dependent on path dependency from previous descisions, and of course individuals operating in the markets. However we can talk about the management they did actually do. If the economy crashes because of a big bubble that is going to burst and the republican party goes back to their rhetoric from 5 years ago that "the economy crashed because of bad management by the governement", you think of those good old Trump years where a booming economy was pretty much boosted up by the management of the governement which insentified individuals to invest in things they would otherwise have not invested in which created the bubbles that undermined that economy they were once proud off.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@Majorsite So you enjoy having a Trump in the White House to explode the national debt? MAGA!
Majorsite · 61-69, M
@windinhishair You just can't reason with a liberal, They are the biggest hate group in America !
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@Majorsite Well, YOU can't, but that's because you can't reason. Any sane person can though.
@Majorsite And yet, the economy did, in fact, grow from 2009 to 2016. There was more to the recovery than just Davis-Bacon projects.

Your savior signed the COVID stimulus, so he gets the blame for the deficit, along with the Republican Congress that oversaw the multi-trillion dollar giveaway to people like Jeff Bezos.
@LeopoldBloom Yu're a trip HM!
@Elevatorpitches No, just being consistent. If Trump is responsible for the growth that began under Obama, he's responsible for the crash last March, too. But I'm aware that if Democrats are in charge, deficits are their fault, but if Republicans are in charge, deficits are the fault of the last Democrat who was in office.
