Its a good thing when people have different opinions on topics based on morality.

discussion is good, weather its about racism, death penalties, abortions, wealth redistribution, religion. there is no ultimate truth in these so any exchange of opinions is valid...

thats as long as you dont start to argue over facts that arent up for reinterpretation... like anti vaxxers, flat earthers, global warming deniers
ANY fact should always be up for reinterpretation.

But discussions shouldn't be fights to the death.
@MrBlueGuy Thur ya go. I'll name you in the footnotes if any fool asks for a source.
@Mamapolo2016 We can be each other's sources it's fool proof!
@MrBlueGuy That's how it works, I'm afraid.
A lot of those topics people claim as absolute truth though. That is what starts so many fights. An inability to even imagine the other person's point of view.

@canusernamebemyusername yeah... people called me a racist and a marxist on this site..in the same topic lol
@IlovePeaches I always say I can respect someone that can change their mind. Even if I don't agree with them. But many people are cognitively frozen.

@canusernamebemyusername i agree... learing from others people arguments and adjusting your worldview is strenth not weakness

I am an onjectivist.

I do think that there is an qbsolute truth (as an ideal state) but as human beings we are imperfect and nit capable of fully understanding it. You can see it like utopia: a theoretical perfectiom we are always striving for and cant ever fully get ti.

You can't really say that all opinions are equally valid and the process of debate should be about opinions being challenged against each other, with the best ones lasting and becoming accepted. Obviously it doesn't always work like that, but it should.

You are correct though in that the three examples that you give should not be cinsudered valid opinions. They are anti science.

yes...till your last phrase. Everything should be open for reinterpretation
IlovePeaches · 22-25, F
@revenant no... the earth is a sphere.. there is no discussion.
I'd love to see those days. But we have a President that likes to create his own facts and as long as people believe him, we've got problems with rational discussion.

@MistyCee yeah... people stay in their echo chambers or are forced into them. everything becomes a political camp question. hell people makign the topic of wearing masks political...

I agree with you!
MartinTheFirst · 22-25, M
There is ultimate truth, you just have the option to choose to ignore it.
@MartinTheFirst That's what they say.

I know, let's ask God who's right.

@LeopoldBloom you can ask yourself, try it.
@MartinTheFirst I did. He said no one is right, or everyone is.

"Those who know, don't tell. Those who tell, don't know."
