All the 20 year olds have all these political views

And aren't self aware enough to realize that everything they know is talking points they heard from someone else who doesn't know anything...
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
This is the most asinine conclusion I have ever (EVER) seen presented.
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@MarkPaul Ever?
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@AthrillatheHunt Yeah... ever! Damn.
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
I don’t think that’s even in my top 100 asinine conclusions on this site lol@MarkPaul
Young people are more flexible in their thinking. People become more conservative as they get older and their brains become stuck in things like party. Also younger people of every generation see the shit their parents did to the world and vow to change it. But as they age that cognitive inflexibility kicks in and they become dogmatic. 20 years olds don't start wars. And it was mostly middle age people and boomers that attacks the capital. Didn't see many people that weren't full grown adults there.
And yet nearly all of the viewership of Fox News etc are all 65 and older and they repeat nothing but talking points. I think you have that backwards.

I kniw a lit if 20 year olds who are very self aware and savvy.
And many over 40s who most definitely are not!
Sidewinder · 36-40, M
I took an interest in politics when I was 15, then lost interest in it when I was 17.

Where did you learn yours?
Like parrots.
Wow. This entire post is a cliche from a bunch of boomers who believe Fox and MSNBC are holy gospel.

Even the data provided by said media networks blow up your premise. Take the demographics of viewers of Fox, MSNBC, CNN and you will find nothing but retirees. Basically nobody watches under the age of 50.
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@marciamom it’s not in the DNA of youth to admit ignorance. I know I didn’t when I was a youngun.
@AthrillatheHunt Actually the most ignorant and stubborn people around are older people. The entire reason you see more radical ideas with younger people is because they are capable of looking at things from a new perspective. That is the opposite of ignorance.
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow for sure dude. Youth is where it’s at.
DarkMoon · 22-25, M
How is that any different to a 40 year old who gets all their opinions from Infowars?
marciamom · F
@DarkMoon life experience, maybe?
DarkMoon · 22-25, M
@marciamom In some cases, yep. But a lot of middle aged people have had limited experiences and some 20 year-olds have been through a lot.
crownedwithlaurel97 · 26-30, F
i mean at what age is one allowed to have political opinions?
Dez580 · 61-69, M
or they read a very edited biased piece on social media and take it as gospel
DunningKruger · 61-69, M
Were we any different at that age?
SophieMarie · 22-25, F
I am kind of offended

Fun fact that kind of blows up this belief is the fact that the most recent polls from Galup shows only 19% of people under 30 trust the media.
It's kind of nice actually, compared to the Reagan era when I was that age.
TommyBoy · 31-35, M
And that's why I don't engage in such conversations.
No depth or understanding to their statements.

Tbf that's also common with older people too.
