Do you think elected officials should rely on public opinion polling in making public policy?

I think polls are extremely flawed, so...no. I think that, instead, politicians who are in charge of our health and safety need to consult with experts before making decisions.

@Sadpicasso I watch and listen to the news constantly, and I know that voter polls are almost consistently wrong. I don't know why that is...but if a party relies on the polls to see how they are doing, they can have some very unpleasant surprises.

I am taking that one step further, and assuming that public opinion polls would be flawed in the same way, because the same polling companies perform them.

@4meAndyou Okay so I have a question. Do you have an example to support your claim because I really am trying to understand your persective

@Sadpicasso ????🙄 Okay...the 2016 election is a primary example. The Democrat party relied heavily on polling, and they were extremely confident that they would win based on the polls.

I beleive they should have a panel with a mix of repsective field experts and members from demographic of whom the policy is going to affect.
