Have you ever heard anyone rationally defend 15 an hour minimum wage?

It’s such an empty argument with major consequences if passed
Johnblackthorn · 56-60, M
Yes it's easy, imagine you have a factory that pays 8 an hour and you want it to go bust and everyone to lose their job, put the wage up to 16 an hour and wait a month or two, it'll soon close.
Recluse · 41-45, M
@Valerian right. But people think there going to be able to make a career out of these types of jobs. And I'm not judging anyone or anything about these jobs. But it's not like that

@Recluse Not a Living Wage! ☑

In the 1920's 30's & 40's Big City Life nearly everyone in a family worked, children included!
This was to pay pretty much only rent & food.

Life has sucked since it began[big], [/big]
So let's allow Politicians and Big Government decide Everything!

Worked well in the Eastern European Socialist/Communist Bloc after WWII !!
In my Inaugural I laid down the simple proposition that nobody is going to starve in this country. It seems to me to be equally plain that no business which depends for existence on paying less than living wages to its workers has any right to continue in this country. By "business" I mean the whole of commerce as well as the whole of industry; by workers I mean all workers, the white collar class as well as the men in overalls; and by living wages I mean more than a bare subsistence level-I mean the wages of decent living.
FDR, talking about the first law he passed establishing minimum wages.

Like paying9$ for a cheeseburger for example
Pretzel · 61-69, M
@Recluse noticed how the dollar meals have disappeared - they are either not on the menu or so small you need a magnifying glass?
Recluse · 41-45, M
@Pretzel ohh I do. Its simple economics. People should first say to themselves.

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout That's not how tax brackets work.
Johnblackthorn · 56-60, M
@BlueVeins the people that know that don't vote badly, the people the don't know it could probably benefit from your knowledge, but you chose not to share it.
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
