Is the extinction of the human race the last , best hope of saving the planet ?

There have been 5 great extinctions so far 99.99% of anything that has ever lived was wiped out long before we got here

If humanity goes extinct, the Sun will sterilize the Earth in a couple billion years anyway. Humanity is the only thing that we know of which can save it from that fate.

Not extinction but a bit of self control would be good. We have to learn how to live in balance with nature. The Bible was terribly misunderstood and people should understand that populating the earth at that time was in response to a catastrophe. We were nearly wiped out 12000 years ago.

No, not up to us to decide. Nature can heal itself, we only need to be good stewards.
