Don't impeach for an impeachable offense?
Just because actions meet a standard of impeachment does not mean it is in the best interest of the country to remove a President from office.

- Senator Marco Rubio
Makes perfect sense to me.

Not all impeachable offenses warrant removal from office. Clinton's did not, for example. But the process of removal in the Senate is there to remove the president when his actions indicate that he is a danger to the institution of the presidency and to the nation. In Trump's case, this is clearly true. If ever there was a president that warranted removal by the Senate, it is this one. Trump will see and promote this as total vindication, and will blatantly abuse the power of the office even more, and in more egregrious ways. Unfortunately, this story isn't ending. It is only beginning.
I get this, and it makes a whole lot of sense, except for the obstruction stuff and the greenlight it gives him to commit even more impeachable offenses knowing he won't get removed or really even impeached again.

1. I believe this person should be removed from the Oval Office. (just my personal opinion)

2. I think it's the job of the American people to remove him, not some tribunal. That's why there are elections, in a democracy.

@helenS if Congress is now a tribunal and not a co-equal branch of the government, then perhaps we should discard the Constitution

Couldn’t agree more.@JoeyFoxx

@Human1000 with what?
Translation:

The president is now above all laws including the constitution.

This does make perfect sense to me. What happened is absolutely impeachable, and it’s important that the potus got impeached. Is actually removing him necessary or even helpful? I don’t think so, the disruption is not commensurate with the level of emergency here.

Rubio is on point here.
goliathtree · 56-60, M
What exactly are the standards for impeachment?
JoeyFoxx · 51-55, M
So, the Democrats are the only guilty party for making this a one sided affair?

Numerous Republicans who have called this clown crazy and irresponsible are now defending him. Though even that spineless fuck from South Carolina continues to remind everyone that it was Russia and NOT Ukraine that meddled in the election.

But, why the fuck should I care? I’m in the 5%. Trump’s policies are benefitting me personally. So I guess I should shut the fuck up.

@JoeyFoxx you seem tense.
JoeyFoxx · 51-55, M
@goliathtree just disappointed

It’s how I roll

It's all just a scam
JovialPlutonian · 36-40, M
@JoeyFoxx lol the world is corrupt. Unless we stamp it out things will continue as they are. Ppl are becoming more aware, some.
JoeyFoxx · 51-55, M
@JovialPlutonian oh great. We are all going to hell.

How helpful you’ve been
JovialPlutonian · 36-40, M
@JoeyFoxx my pleasure
You think some people are above the law?
JoeyFoxx · 51-55, M
Evidently @Looking
