@Heartlander What really boils my blood about the whole thing is, they go quoting founding fathers like they actually care about the constitution while at the same time blantantly ignoring the constitution, setting the precedent that anyone and everyone (except Democrats) are guilty until proven innocent. Even then the accused aren't allowed a fair trial! It truly is disgusting what they have done.

They are hesitant because the impeachment is an insult to jurisprudence. This is the first impeachment where the grounds for impeachment were that the legislators of one party did not like the president because he was not a member of their party. "I don't like you." is not grounds for impeachment and hopefully the proglodytes won't be able to set that precedent.

I believe the law says impeachment is the actual vote in the house. No matter what happens it is on the record.

Now the next congress, likely Republican, can vote to expunge it.

@hippyjoe1955 Then that makes Trump the guilty one here. He feared his witnesses were going to commit perjury and blocked/ told them from testifying. Even if they did not commit perjury, that was still a bad move on Trump's part. There was no need for Trump to say he did not have due process because he blocked witnesses from testifying before the inquiry to defend him.

I don't see a downside to sending it to the Senate. If they dismiss it the GOP sends a clear message to the electorate that they put the cult of Trump over their oaths, above law, and above their nation.

It's a technicality.

The Senate will end up going to trial without the articles, if necessary,if Trump insists and if that is what Trump really wants.

I've heard some theories that Pelosi is just trying to delay so that the culmination of the trial will be in November 2020. (She must be praying for a Hail Mary if that's the case). AND I've heard that she is trying to delay so that the Senate Dems running for President can attend the Iowa Caucus.

I've also heard that she hopes the Senate dems running for President will be spiked by her delays, so that the socialists won't have as much campaign time as Biden and Butigieg.

It's anybody's guess why she is doing this, but if she hopes to influence the way the Senate conducts an impeachment trial she hasn't got a prayer.
