Even if you want to pursue the question of relative validity, etc - you’re still past “there are two genders” and moving towards “two genders is the best setup out of many possible ones” - and that is obviously not the same thing.

Are you confused about the difference between a major and a career? Because I have news for you - hardly anyone pursues their major as a career, and this absolutely goes for the "good" degrees too.

From example, from OSU's physics department's page:

Half of those don't even have anything to do with physics - and that's pretty normal. Finance companies also tend to be stuffed with physics majors.

You undergrad is rarely about your career, that's not the point.

@QuixoticSoul What feelings? Avg salaries don't tell you how many Gender Studies majors don't find jobs in their chosen field which seems to be the genesis of this thread.

@eli1601 Outside of professional degrees, most undergrads don’t choose their major to get a career in their chosen field - especially as a good number of those fields require PhDs to pursue professionally. Your average Physics major isn’t angling to be a physicist, and your average History major isn’t trying to become a historian.

I feel like a lot of folks don’t actually understand what undergraduate education is about, or its role in one’s career.

You’re probably also confused why the the best major for someone looking to become a lawyer is not criminal justice - but philosophy.
