What are your views on Tulsi Gabbard as a presidential candidate?

BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
She supports universal healthcare, legalization of recreational drugs, legality of abortion, nationalized secondary education, reimportation of drugs from Canada and allowing for price negotiation, and infrastructure spending. She takes no corporate PAC money, no big money bundling, and has transparent campaign finance. Most of all, her platform centers around ending overseas military interventions and putting an end to the US empire. So all in all, an excellent candidate.

My one reservation about her is her concerning ties to Hindu nationalists in India. That's something to keep an eye on.
@BlueMetalChick And her membership in a demented religious cult.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@LeopoldBloom Which is confusing, since her voting record and entire political platform flies directly in the face of said demented religious cult.

If I told you that I was a devoted Nazi, but then I also did the complete opposite of what a Nazi would do, such as preaching pacifism and nonaggression, supporting the rights and wellbeing of Jews, Gypsies, and other racial groups seen as "impure", condemning the mistreatment of physically and mentally disabled people, so on and so forth, would you still consider me to be a Nazi? Just because I call myself one, but don't do anything that adheres to the ideology?
DesiDudeJ04 · 26-30, M
Sorry to interfere, but people said that Hitler has read ancient Hindu Vedic scriptures and took inspiration and put a holy swastika on his flag.
But if you have read those scriptures, then you will follow righteousness and start seeing God in everyone and you will God in yourself to one day. The case is that those scriptures tell that there's God in everyone and he is everywhere. Read Vedas and Upanishads, you will know.
Hitler and Nazis had done bad deeds and because of that karma, they faced difficulties/punishment in the end.
I must say, they never understood those scriptures and they had given importance to their ego and greed.
I can understand that Germany faced many difficulties. But jews suffered their discrimination. That's wrong. Because Jews are citizens of Germany too.
Her foreign policy stance particularly on Hindu extremists is a big problem.
@DesiDudeJ04 I know that many Hindus are good people but much like Christians and Muslims in other parts of the world when they mix religion with politics it gets not so nice.
DesiDudeJ04 · 26-30, M
@nektar94 you are either not saying that confidently or you are saying it by keeping hate in your heart. Acting godly you are saying but without understanding philosophy and science behind it.
There are goddesses in hinduism. We call our country as Bharat Mata (Mother India). We believe that there is goddess in every woman and one must not disrespectful to women.
There is a place for atheism in hinduism and also questioning is allowed in hinduism.
Basically it's a religion of seekers of true knowledge and peace.
I don't know where are you from and what do you want by spreading hate about hinduism. Even if you are questioning, you are welcome. Even if you are criticising, you are welcome.
We don't hate those who hate us. Basically we listen them which help us to understand the topic.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@nektar94 Ah, so now you've shown your hand.
For me she is the only democratic candidate with a solid ethical core and real leadership abilities. And she's the only one willing to spit the truth as she sees it, even bluntly, consequences be damned. She's also the only one that seems capable of putting the distraction of partisan politics aside. You know. She's like what American politicians used to be before they started taking hard loads from special interests and party masters. The only concern I have is that she seems to snuggle with Hindu nationalists. But hey. We're in a period of American politics where we seem indifferent to foreign political influence. So there's that.
She grew up in a hysterically ant-LGBT cult that is an offshoot of the Hare Krishnas, and we have no idea how much influence the leader still has over her. I’ve never met a supporter of hers who was a Democrat, they’re all conservative Republican men who seem to like her because she’s good-looking. I’m glad she dropped out and won’t be in Congress after this year. She was easily the worst candidate of the bunch.
@LeopoldBloom Back to the xenophobia and sins of the father fallacies, but molestation is apparently totally ok.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@LeopoldBloom Well, here I am, not a republican and I supported her. As for her homophobic upbringing, you are correct. That being said her voting record is about as strongly pro-LGBT as one can get. That's really the only evidence I need when wondering whether or not she still holds true to what she was taught as a child.
@BlueMetalChick Blaming someone for their upbringing is silly especially when somewhat misrepresented.
SW-User
She's the best one they have

SW-User
@Zonuss Who is better? Warren? Hahaha Biden? Maybe if he doesn't gaf? Yang? He doesn't know anything about the process. Who am I missing? Booker? Hahaha no.
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@SW-User Yang is very intelligent and successful in everything that he does. He knows how to create capita and.eliminate debt. Biden may be part of The Establishment but he has the experience go get things done. ✋
SW-User
@Zonuss Biden maybe. Just maybe.

Yang can't debate. Hahaha He has no interest in getting me to vote for him.

Plus his foreign policy is non existent
Jackaloftheazuresand · 26-30, M
If the democrats were smart they'd run her to the top, even the opposite side likes her
@Jackaloftheazuresand Only the opposite side likes her. She should have run as a Republican.
Ryannnnnn · 31-35, M
Its none of my business but I think she cares about some important issues and she seems principled.
nektar94 · 41-45, M
I'd do her, but she is not qualified.
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
@BlueMetalChick you are seeing as the other poster thinks we've never said anything about Yemen.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@basilfawlty89 LOL
Yeah I just happen to be Yemeni. And lived through the genocide there. But I never said anything about it.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@nektar94 "Yemen are terrorist"
Well no they aren't, but Saudi are. And you love them, don't you? You also support the Syrian rebels and they're terrorists.

So why do you love terrorists?
The sanest democRAT on stage
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout Typical. Gabbard’s only supporters are conservative Republican men. She should have run against Twitler for the GOP nomination.
@LeopoldBloom cry me a river
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@LeopoldBloom Conservative republican men are most certainly not Gabbard's only supporter. I'm not conservative, republican, or a man but I like Gabbard a lot.

That being said, I like her for pretty much every reason that TheOneYourWereWarnedAbout doesn't, and vice versa. Everything that I think is good about Gabbard, e.g. support for universal healthcare, condemning Saudi Arabia and Israel, rejecting the premise of overseas military interventions in various countries, wanting to end the Yemeni genocide, supporting minimum wage increase, are all things he vehemently despises and would bitch and whine about nonstop were Gabbard hypothetically elected president and stayed true to her campaign trail.
America won't let a woman become president. That I'm sure of
@Zonuss maybe in like 20 years
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@RebornPhoenix Hilary actually won the popular vote by over 2.8 million. Just saying.
@DeWayfarer oh right
TexChik · F
She’s a lib... aka abortion anytime, high taxes , socialism, single payor health care, open borders , gun confiscations , the destruction of our economy ( suspension of all oil production and fossil fuel use) , and likely civil war
akindheart · 61-69, F
@TexChik those are the reason!! thanks for following me with the reasons
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
She has her moments but I also have criticism.
If she changes her name to "Bubbles St. James" then its possible - but that name sounds ------welllllllll.......ya know.
akindheart · 61-69, F
of all the Dems, i liked her the best but she was very evasive and i saw some facts i didn't like.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
Not going to happen.
Zonuss · 41-45, M
She's a nice lady. But she doesn't have that deep reaching charisma that is needed to be President of the US. 🙂
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@basilfawlty89 Fair point, I guess even blind squirrels sometimes find golden acorns.
@BlueMetalChick They do ? ----
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@MarmeeMarch Unfortunately for them, yes. Why do you think I have such an easy time scamming everyone out of their money?
