Unless we go out of our way to find information about what's happening in other countries around the world, our mainstream news outlets focus solely on the U.S. Sadly, we really are isolationists and have been that way for years and years. I may be wrong but I think Ddonde was asking because he really didn't understand. I recently asked someone from Australia why he was so into American politics. He posted something about Elijah Cummings. I truly had no idea that someone from another country would have a clue who Cummings was. We really know very little about key players in other countries. Most here in the U.S. couldn't tell you who the Prime Minister of Australia is without looking it up. It's very frustrating for those of us who want to know more about other countries besides surface information. It's not always easy finding the answers.
