What do Americans think of Brexit ?

Speaking for myself, it just seems odd that the folks who pushed for Brexit had not worked out the details in advance. When people voted for it, they voted for an idea, not a plan. It all sounds like putting the cart before the horse to me, and of course chaos ensued.

I think it's interesting to have to read all the Brits here disparaging Trump and the America political system while they themselves are in the political equivalent of a dumpster fire when it comes to Brexit.

You must know the EU is not going to give you a deal. They don't want to encourage others to leave and you are playing into their hands.

Either leave or don't but stop waiting for the EU to give you the deal you want, they aren't going to do that.

England leaves, and the rest will follow

I personally hope it happens. I think that it would be the best thing for Britain, and ultimately for Europe (though some countries of Europe probably don't see it that way). But sadly, I don't think that the politicians there have either the backbone or even the desire to make it happen. I think they're probably too worried that certain countries of Europe that are used to being bailed out financially would find some way to retaliate against Britain if they were to ever go through with it.

But I'm just an American, so what do I know? It's just my theory.

National suicide. If Britain ever successfully gets out of the EU -- which is far from a given -- it'll still have to trade with the other European countries to keep its economy alive, and that means following EU regulations. With the EU, Britain had a seat at the table, but now it'll just be stuck out in the cold, forced to abide by rules that it can't even control.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I feel sorry for the people. Your government seems totally inept, and unable to get anything done.

Britain would be better off partnered with the Ol US of A...

Let our gigantic turbo engine supply your economy. After all, we speak the same language and share the same lineage for the great majority.

We also lead the world in soft power- Pop culture influence... with economic, pop culture and military alliances all synchronized, prosperity can only result.

We're too busy worrying about Trumpxit to care.

As an American, I don't care. Except that if they do leave, don't come expecting we will come in and save you if things go bad. And, please American vultures, do not go in and screw them if they get in trouble.
It is time to get Britain back to being a normal country.

Most people don't know enough about it....and honestly unless there's some negative Trump angle (like can we blame something on him because of it), I think it's the usual "how will it effect me?". I'm in a business that could be impacted by it so I'm watching....

Sane Americans understand that it was a bad idea from the start that turned into a complete clusterfuck. But we have our own bullshit to worry about.
