Beats me. The U.S. in general has very little respect for labor. It’s a great country - if you’re already rich.

Because we don't need some fucking commies, telling us when to celebrate our labor force. MAGA. Beside, it makes a nice segue into Fall, and lets people know when they can stop wearing white.

We don't. We grill a few hot dogs and have a few beers. We'd have to go way back to find more contempt for labor. As a society we hate labor.
