Why does the US celebrate Labor Day ?

@Mamapolo2016

Labor Day: What it Means
Labor Day, the first Monday in September, is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.

How did I know your question was foreplay for that? You’re welcomez@RodionRomanovitch

@Mamapolo2016 It wasn't , until you started boasting.

Beats me. The U.S. in general has very little respect for labor. It’s a great country - if you’re already rich.
RodionRomanovitch · 56-60, M
@SmartKat It beats me too , in a country where a large majority of working class people continue to vote for a party that doesn't represent its interests. (Neither party does really but one is clearly far worse than the other.)

Because we don't need some fucking commies, telling us when to celebrate our labor force. MAGA. Beside, it makes a nice segue into Fall, and lets people know when they can stop wearing white.

@Northwest Your sarcasm gets more British with every post 😜

@Burnley123 I am learning from the best :-)

Why the heck do you care. You think you’re better than any American. You’re not. Every single one of your post are bashing Trump or Americans. Or American traditions. Why? You got nothing better to do? Really. Let me guess you’re a rich spoiled brat. Maybe you’re jealous of Americans. It’s none of your concern. Enough with a bunch of douchebag foreigners thinking they and their cunt ry are better than America and Americans. If it wasn’t for America and Americans where would you and your country be??? You should be showing gratitude and respect to America for Gods sake. You should be ashamed. Grow up already. Ask your great grandfather or grandmother if they appreciate what America did for your country.
RodionRomanovitch · 56-60, M
@gregloa This question had nothing to do with Trump.
gregloa · 61-69, M
Most of your post DO!@RodionRomanovitch
RodionRomanovitch · 56-60, M
@gregloa But this one didn't. It was you who brought him up not me.

We don't. We grill a few hot dogs and have a few beers. We'd have to go way back to find more contempt for labor. As a society we hate labor.

Because we're a sovereign country and don't need a reason. If that hurts your feelings that's on you.
xRedx · M
@EarthlingWise this man sure does make it feel that way. That's your implication, not mine. From what I see here, a bunch of people do bash on the US and it's people for no good reason.
xRedx · M
@RodionRomanovitch right, I'm not sophisticated but you're the man well past his middle age and when your questioned gets answered with a citation you still throw a fit with irrelevant topics without citing evidence. Makes sense.
RodionRomanovitch · 56-60, M
@xRedx I'm looking for analysis , not something that I can easily google myself. You do understand the difference , don't you ?
it meant something at one point...now it’s just another retail holiday

Same reason Canada does.
According to our Labor Department, it celebrates the labor movement, as well as social and economic contributions working people have made to our country.
