Ever wonder how Trump draws such numbers to his rallies?
Workers at the Pennsylvania petrochemical plant where President Donald Trump spoke Tuesday were told that if they didn't attend the event, they either had to use paid time off or receive no pay for the day.

At least some of the workers who attended the speech were instructed not to protest the President, who told the crowd of workers at the Royal Dutch Shell plant he would be imploring their union leaders to support his reelection.

The instructions to the workers came in a memo, a copy of which was obtained by CNN's Polo Sandoval from a congressional source. That source was given the memo by a person in Beaver County, Pennsylvania -- the site of the plant.
That's the only way Trump can get a crowd is to force them. He's becoming a dictator. Wake up America.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@JoeyFoxx This House has already passed many more bills than the republican-led obstructionist Houses that preceded them. There isn't much more they can do.
JoeyFoxx · 51-55, M
Then stop complaining about it.

The Democratic Congress hamstrung HW and he signed legislation for the sake of making progress and doing what was best for the country.

Obama did none of that.

We now have a jackass of a President and all anyone wants to do is bitch about him and not address the underlying reality that he won the fucking election.

If the Democrats knew just s tiny bit of what it meant to be sympathetic to rural America, it never should have been close. Trump has always been unfit for office, and yet he won.

Congress isn’t doing enough.

@windinhishair
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@JoeyFoxx You were the one who brought up Congress. Not me.

I agree that Congress isn't doing enough, but at least the House is doing what they can do at the moment. If the Senate cared about rural America, they would work with the House to impeach and remove the president for crimes committed and documented. But they don't, and they won't.

It is important to continue to point out the wrongdoing and the perversion of our former values by this president. It won't stop until he is removed and becomes a sad, failed footnote in history.

Bush signed legislation that damaged the nation and led directly to the huge recession we are still recovering from. Legislation that was passed by the House AND the Senate. The House couldn't do it alone then, and they can't now. Republicans came out of the gate in 2009 and pledged to do everything possible to obstruct Obama and make his presidency fail. When they took the House in 2010, they obstructed everything he wanted to do, including things they agreed with, and even stole a Supreme Court seat. There has been no progress in anything meaningful by Congress since the Republicans took the House in 2010.

Yes, rural America voted for Trump. How are those tariffs working out for rural farmers? $1200 per year in extra costs per rural resident and climbing.

Thank You!!! I was so hoping someone would post this! Here's the letter that was sent out to the employees.

My next fill up will be at Exxon across the steet instead of Shell, which seems to be actively aiding and abetting Trump at the moment.

I'll probably forget next week, though, unless Shell comes out publicly. Life's too short, and American greed and stupidity is just too prevalent to keep up with.
JoeyFoxx · 51-55, M
@MistyCee maybe it's time for me to switch to Chevron
windinhishair · 61-69, M
Freedom. Liberty. Merica.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
Wow. That is fascist and employees shouldn't have to use their paid time off, that paid time off should go for future emergencies. Not to force them to hear the president speak if they don't want to.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
Baby-trump seems incapable of doing anything on the up-and-up. If he wasn't so revolting, it might be possible to feel sorry for him. No doubt, his breathless fans will find this uplifting.
SmartKat · 56-60, F
samanthasmokes · 36-40, F
Hmm, is it too early to start chanting, "[c=#800000]Sieg Heil[/c]!"
samanthasmokes · 36-40, F
@windinhishair Trump may never go full out supporting White Supremacy ... but sub rosa he's certainly not refusing their support. He just gave support to the LGBT community in the guise of human rights ... which you know is a good move now that his campaigning for re-election is in full swing.

You know something is up when you hear the right wing talk shows say that all the pictures of Trump partying with Epstein are photoshopped fake news made by the liberals in order to hide the fact that Clinton and Prince Andrew had sex with underage girls on a regular basis at Epstein's Island which proves what we all know that Liberals are all pedophiles and Conservatives are all virgins until they marry and not one gay one in the litter!
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@samanthasmokes The conspiracy theories used to be humorous in that it was hard to believe that people would actually put stock in the outlandish claims. Now it is disturbing the things that are accepted without question.
samanthasmokes · 36-40, F
@windinhishair Propaganda, fake news, conspiracies ... useful tools for those "behind the scenes" folks. Sometimes as I observe more of this being applied in our time of history I almost have to shrug my shoulders and realize that most of us, the regular citizen, are just pawns on a chessboard....for a game that's thousands of years old.
aaaaaaaand that's Trumps fault ?
JoeyFoxx · 51-55, M
@MarmeeMarch necrophilia really is a thing for you. Eh?
@JoeyFoxx Dont be such a....... [image deleted]
It's only the internet.....
JoeyFoxx · 51-55, M
You seem to be taking everything seriously.

Try your own advice on for size.

@MarmeeMarch
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
Trump is extremely popular. So was/is the TV comedy series Seinfeld. And the show was about nothing.

Personally, I wouldn’t attend his rallies. I see no benefit in doing that. I read that people wait in long lines in the rain just to hear him speak. Good grief - people should get a life. 😝
MarineBob · 56-60, M
But do they complain about a free lunch or a day at the amusement park courtesy of their boss... Oh that's right they're not bitching, CNN is
@MarineBob

"If my employees don't conduct their private lives the way i think they should they're fired!"

Dang. I thought america was the land of the free. What a little bitch
MarineBob · 56-60, M
@Pikachu My business is for sale, if you want to buy it
@MarineBob

Sure. Then your employees can freely choose to attend or skip any political rally they want.
What is wrong with you?
JT123 · M
I never wonder. He's the best president in decades! The 20 dems can't fill a bathroom at their rallies
MarineBob · 56-60, M
@JT123 most attend the rallies and debates just to hear them berate their fellow Dems
Graylight · 51-55, F
@MarineBob Yup, you got us. Just complaining in a half empty bathroom. @JT123

Nothing like full-throated enthusiastically coerced support.

No such thing as freedom of the people when it involves that dictator wannabe.
I figured it had to be something like that. We can’t have that many corrupt, sick people. And Trump’s never on the up and up when he can avoid it.

@LvChris So you have to attend, but you can’t protest. Wonder what those so-called “free speech conservatives” have to say about that ? 😒

@bijouxbroussard @LvChris Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated. Just like in the old Star Trek episodes.

This is the same facility that stiffed me on some work I did for them about ten years ago. I helped them solve a major operational problem, for which I was paid nada.
nedkelly · 61-69, M
Sometimes the democrats have to concede that TRUMP is extremely popular
Graylight · 51-55, F
@nedkelly Yup, which is why people are mandated to hear him speak. Our own Dear Leader...
@Graylight Hey, I've heard no evidence that Trump told Shell to pay them yet.

Funny thing is, if anyone else did, it's a Hatch Act violation, one of the laws Trump likes it when his people break.
JeanAnna · F
@nedkelly He's only popular with his own base, the rest of us know he's just a fake.
Jackaloftheazuresand · 26-30, M
but just because they were told that does not mean that the crowd also doesn't support him
JoeyFoxx · 51-55, M
Jackaloftheazuresand · 26-30, M
@JoeyFoxx Don't roll your eyes at me. That kind of thing is the reason conversation breaks down. I had thought I gave you a response of dignity, I even gave you a personal background on myself. If that's all you have to add then don't waste my time in the future.
JoeyFoxx · 51-55, M
Simply put, a paid audience isn’t legit.

The Trump administration over supports the petroleum industry.

It’s an unspoken quid pro quo.

There’s no other way to look at it.
@Jackaloftheazuresand
JoeyFoxx · 51-55, M
What's interesting about this is no one from Shell Union is denying the veracity of this.

Evidently, they think this is normal.

Paid rallies. Sounds legit.
nedkelly · 61-69, M
@JoeyFoxx We have paid rallies in Australia - we call them rent a crowd
JoeyFoxx · 51-55, M
@MarkPaul That's the thing... I don't think many of them think they are "getting away" with anything.

Corruption is so commonplace in some areas that it's not even recognized as being wrong.
JoeyFoxx · 51-55, M
@nedkelly
rent a crowd
Politics has become such a damn popularity contest in the US. I assume it's the same down there.

Everyone wants to follow the fucking crowd instead of thinking for themselves.

I suppose this really isn't new.
ImKelsey · 26-30, F
I assume those attending got a days' pay and had to report in to receive it.
Northwest · M
This must be a trick question :-)
TheunderdogofNY · 36-40, M
I don't doubt something like this could be true. But I have a hard time trusting CNN or any mainstream media so I'm indifferent still.
Graylight · 51-55, F
@TheunderdogofNY Is not just CNN and the memo is on file.
UserNameSW · 46-50, M
Played support is still support 🤔
