This is how the 2020 election will go:

The Dems will win the popular vote by six million. Trump will win the electoral college because Putin will alter the vote in key districts. Incontrovertible proof of such will eventually come out (if there are any non-loyalists left in the FBI) but all Republicans will declare such proof a socialist hoax.

The systematic dismantling of American democracy will continue as gerrymandering and voter suppression make it impossible for Dems to win anywhere but the bluest of states.
The House Judiciary Committee is continuing the prospects of impeachment. (MOP)I am sure that it will include any violations of High Crimes and Misdemeanors such as, Perjury of oath, Abuse of authority, Intimidation, Misuse of assets, Unbecoming Conduct, and Refusal to obey a lawful order. They wont be difficult to prove by citing his Rally Speech's, Tweets, and from his contacts with the News Media. As the findings are released to the public, over time, it will become more obvious that he could be impeached and removed from office along with his Senior Advisers (family), and possibly other GOP members. He can choose to resign, like Nixon did, or ruin other peoples lives also. We will just have to wait and see what happens.

@softspokenman

Nixon, say what you want about him, cared more about the country than himself that he resigned rather than put the country thru an impeachment trial.

Trump has an ego too big to do that.
@beckyromero I agree about his ego and that could happen. If/when the HJC publishes their findings it wont be 488 pages, a good size book BTW, it will be several good size books and it will be very difficult for the GOP Senators not to accept it and that could ruin the Republican party in the eyes of voters. HE wouldn't be able to win re-election. If he loses re-election and a new POTUS is elected and HE refuses to leave office then the Marine guard, along with DC law enforcement, would be forced to arrest him and physically remove him. I don't think that the GOP is prepared to put the country through that.
On my recent walkabout tour, Willie, door-to-door, I asked three hundred million Americans to fill in my napkin-sized questionnaire. on whom they would vote for. A staggering 200 million said President Trump! It wasa very busy and tiring day for me and I was glad to kick off my shoes when I arrived back at my room in Trump Towers!

If enough states can't certify their results, this will happen:

@beckyromero Including (oh, I daren't say it ...but I must)... FLORIDA??

@EugenieLaBorgia

Florida is most certainly on Putin's radar.

In more ways than one.

@beckyromero I'll just make a note of this in context,Becky: Florida Nuclear Whipping Boy.

Here is how the 2016 vote went
Today, a grand jury in the District of Columbia returned an indictment presented by the Special Counsel’s Office. The indictment charges twelve Russian military officers by name for conspiring to interfere with the 2016 presidential election.

After listing all the charges of the indictment he says this:

THERE IS NO ALLEGATION IN THIS INDICTMENT THAT ANY AMERICAN CITIZEN COMMITTED A CRIME. THERE IS NO ALLEGATION THAT THE CONSPIRACY CHANGED THE VOTE COUNT OR AFFECTED ANY ELECTION RESULT
1) There is no evidence that the Russians infiltrated any voting system of any state.
Just because Fearless Leader ignores Intelligence reports doesn't mean the rest of us should. The Senate Intelligence Committee concluded Russia succeeded in infiltrating not one but 21 US states during the 2016 election. But what could they know that you don't?

@windinhishair enjoy your delusion
Your reference article says "targeted"
This quote from your article
"There is no evidence that any of the registration rolls were altered in any fashion, according to U.S. officials"
Clinton campaign officials we in multiple contacts with foreign operatives to get dirt on Trump, and that didn't affect the election either, and if she had won that would not be reason to overturn the election either.
The Democrats control the house, what legislation have they proposed to curb foreign influence?
Seems to me this is for the justice Dept to do.
The Mueller investigation found no collusion. My
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@GJOFJ3 Thank you for providing proof of my point--state voting systems were accessed. I knew you could admit it. Who knows what they will do next time they are accessed? Republicans heartily approve of future tampering, as long as it benefits Dear Leader.

Where is your proof that foreign governments provided support to the Clinton campaign? That would be illegal, just as it was for Trump to knowingly receive support from Russia. Shouldn't we just lock her up?

Republicans in the Senate scuttled bills dealing with election security just this past week. Anything to get Dear Leader elected again is fair game.

http://nymag.com/intelligencer/2019/07/gop-blocks-election-security-bills-day-of-mueller-testimony.html

Mueller found that he could not prove collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia. He also found that Trump and his aides lied to him repeatedly. But they held firm and any evidence of collusion was carefully concealed from view. The lies work as long as all the liars tell the same story.

Election security is not going to be a priority for this DOJ. The AG is in on the fix and that is his highest priority--protecting Dear Leader from the consequences of his actions.
And Trump will be president and the rest of us have to spend 4 more years listening to every liberal on the planet complain about it.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@TopCat You mean they won't let you use racist comments at work and have to show respect for others? I'm sorry for you.
@windinhishair oh now I'm a racist! Coz I think a good I see has been taken way to far, you've just proven my point, again...
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@TopCat Poor, poor you. Being required to be respectful of others at work and not being able to make racist, homophobic, and misogynistic statements. What is the world coming to?
windinhishair · 61-69, M
Or.....

The Democrat beats Trump handily in the popular vote, and in key battleground states, securing the Electoral College win. But Russian meddling is apparent, and Trump declares the election void and refuses to vacate the office. He then declares a four-year period to fix our broken election systems around the country, before another election can be held, and declares himself eligible to run in that election too, because a president cannot serve two elected terms, and the hiatus doesn't qualify as a term. Republicans support him wholeheartedly and adoringly.

Both gerrymandering and voter suppression continue unabated, and Jim Crow laws return in major southern states, along with poll taxes and voter tests.

@windinhishair Could be - I see the changes a little more subtle -- two forms of ID, for example. Non enforcement of civil rights (making segregation de factor v de jure) etc.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@SW-User Yes, that would be possible for a man who has no soul and no moral code, with Stephen Goebbels Miller as his top advisor.

So much undoing and control at the same time.
