Why do you call out WHITE?? That's the way racists talk.
Just a guess, i think that many americans see the comments which reflect the basest, racist sentiment of "go back where you came from" feel that trump is creating an america where foreigners are the enemy.
The people that think trump is doing good will play it off and the americans who DO think that foreigners are the enemy will applaud him.
But what can you expect from the president who said there were very fine people on both sides of the white power rallies in Charlottesville.

@lemmy
My family/ancestors were immigrants way back when too... and yes, I'm proud of my heritage as well...
But I don't go around calling myself a "Viking-German-Scottish-Irish-American"...🤔

@wildbill83 Same here, great grand parents used to say they were American with roots in (home country). No need for a hyphen, they were American first.
wildbill83 · 36-40, M
@raysam363 such a simple concept, yet so difficult for many to comprehend...

Can anyone quote one of his comments or tweets that’s racist?
lemmy · 22-25, M
@GallantlyChurlish go back to your countries,
GallantlyChurlish · 46-50, M
@lemmy And how is this racism as it stands, without having to assume it had racist intent?
daisymay · 51-55, T
@GallantlyChurlish Because 75% of the women he said that to are from the USA. Also, federal guidelines list "go back to your country" as a literal textbook example of discrimination.
do white americans feel they are ignore din their own country
Nope. All that economic anxiety has just made them want to feel better about themselves with some good old-fashioned bigotry.

The white Americans who feel like they're being ignored will ALWAYS find something to feel persecuted over. That's what they do. This issue, and Trump's ascent, is meant to take advantage of that.
