@MaryJanine Absolutely. In the back of my mind I cant help thinking Abe would have ended up with another bullet in him trying to solve this one. And yet no one has taken a shot at Trump.

@MaryJanine Actually we wouldnt want that. That puts Pence in the White house. As much of a wrecker as Trump is, Pence is truly dangerous.

@whowasthatmaskedman Trump is bad enough. My one brother who is into politics said to me once "your President..." and I replied, "Don't say that! He's not my President, and I didn't vote for him."

@MaryJanine You are right. You didnt vote for him. But hes what you have for now. Like you I would rather have something different. But I was voted down as well. So I play the system as best I can and if it gets bad enough I will move on. If it doesnt get so bad, there is always another election.

@MaryJanine Ahhh.. THAT ship sailed long ago. America is "Broker" than Greece and doesnt have the EU to stop it overspending. Your personal share of the international debt is about $66,000 at this point. Will that be Mastercard or Visa? (Thats what the nation has been doing for decades... Putting it on the card.)

@MaryJanine Fair enough, although the two are linked. Successive administrations have used deficit spending to keep the economy afloat and avoid recessions.
But politically there are two pictures, again linked. One is the Americas place in the world. which trump has trashed beyond belief.
The other is his work at home. Which is about his personal popularity with his base and his ego. As long as his "agenda" isnt served, no more will actually happen than happened with Obama, with Congress and the courts and states neutering his efforts. Not so bad, so far. But terrible in a time when America needs to be working together making every post a winner.

@whowasthatmaskedman Fair's fair. If I give you your points, can you get that damn fool to STOP TRASHING MY HOME TOWN (Chicago)? To his way of thinking, we got Prohibition in force and have gone back to the 1920s with machine guns on each and every corner and crime is rampant everywhere. We aren't perfect, but neither is Washington, D.C. I've been there and I wasn't impressed a bit. He's never set foot in Chicago since he won the GOP nomination, and I hope he never comes. He has nothing but trash to say about my home city, and he better cut it out - I'm not the ONLY one who notices it. Garbage and lies don't win votes.

@SmartKat I am not sure anyone wants to fight another civil war. But we dont have to look too far from the Presidents chair to find a deeply religious right wing nut job to take the country down the "Southern" path.
