Are the Dems trying to lose?

"According to a Hill-HarrisX survey, only 13 percent of Americans say they would prefer a health insurance system with no private plans. Warren and Sanders pin themselves, and perhaps the Democratic Party, to a 13 percent policy idea. Trump is smiling."

in europ we have both systems, national health and private, simple, rich peoipel go private, the rest fo us get free helath car epaid for by taxes
Turtlepower · 36-40, M
@kutee that's the system that makes the most sense.
unknownpoetx · 36-40, M
@kutee that's not true. I live in europe and rich people go to public. being private doesn't mean being better. public here is much better than private in most cases. you also pay 0. usually privates only work for stupid ameritards that don't understand that

Does this not depend on the framing of the question though?

I've seen polls which say most Americans (including a lot of Republic voters) support a Canadian style single-payer system.

@Burnley123 Yes, and much private health insurance is affordable. It's a bit of a myth that it's all horrible. There are millions of us who are not willing to give it up.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@SW-User Its fair enough but the parents of my American ex had major problems.

@Burnley123 I have no doubt. There is no need to start out with such a maximalist approach -- we need to beat Trump and calling for the end of private health insurance will turn off voters.

I vote for a universal healthcare plan that is better or equal to what our Congressional leaders currently enjoy. Why would you need private health insurance?

Vote!

@SmartKat Thank you 😊
Bill Clinton or Obama could step in right now and win by 30 points. LOL

If right-wingers don’t like paying taxes (because, god forbid, that money might be used to help non-rich people), why don’t they change the wording? I bet they would pay if it was called “guillotine insurance.”

That's why we have taxes ..taxes would pay for health care ,but I think private insurance should be an option too .
Subsumedpat · 36-40, M
The dems are right we need a single payer system it is the only thing that makes sense, thing is you should have to pay for it, it won't be free, if it is free then you are making someone pay for your shit at the point of a gun. Government always has a gun.

@kutee My taxes went up under Trump. I don't want to keep paying more when the rich keep paying less.
@kutee @SW-User My taxes have always been pretty high. Regardless of party. But, I work two jobs, so, thats to be expected.

@SheCallsMeCrushDaddy Mine went up by about $6,000 because I live in California. He punished us.

87% of americans are retarded. can't even point their own country on the map
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
Polls are unreliable. Trump won when all the polls said he wouldn't for instance. So the people who could be voting on the polls could only be of a certain variety of people who visit the site.

There's lots of other people who don't take polls for instance in which would have the opposite opinion.

I like my insurance. I'll keep it. I don't want to be forced into healthcare for all.
CA has healthcare for everyone, it's called Medi-Cal and Medicare.
