I really fucking hope not but with John Bolton as the national security advisor I really wouldn't doubt it. He asked the NSC to draw up plans for a preemptive bombing on Iran long before this situation with the supposed Iranian attacks on the oil tanker ships. Not to mention his repeated attempts to convince both the president and Congress to invade North Korea, Venezuela, Cuba, and Nicaragua in the last 18 months.

@helenS What I mean by check your sources is check who is doing the translation. The first statement you quoted was deliberately mistranslated or more accurately invented by someone with a political agenda. As someone who reads Russian I can tell you Iran is not the only nation regularly misquoted for a political objective.
And even if true posturing and words are not actions. Iran has not attacked anyone in about a century. The USA and Israel have almost turned it into a sporting event.

Interesting with Iran war is that John Bolton is following the exact same playbook he did with Iraq. Diffrence is nobody thinks this war is a good idea while back in 2003 it was a pretty popular war at first.
