@UndeadPrivateer Send them to die in Iraq!
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
Jon Stewart losing his shit in Congress was fucking amazing.
Democrats aren't blameless in this but this really does lay bare the Republican lie.

@CountScrofula That truly was a moment for the history books.
helenS · 36-40, F
It's a shame. I don't get it.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@helenS It's "patriotism for those who we can profit off of."
helenS · 36-40, F
@BlueMetalChick Patriotism for the rich.

What is the connection between 911 FR and healthcare - youre kidding right ?
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@MarmeeMarch I'm making fun of shitheads like Lindsey Graham or Mark Levine, who claimed that the proposal to grant Medicaid access to 9/11 FR was "un-American" and "a handout to people who haven't done anything to deserve it."

@BlueMetalChick ahhh
beckyromero · 36-40, F
Politicans of BOTH parties abandoned them.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@beckyromero Well that's true, it's not like democrats are much better.

@beckyromero I'm sorry, becky. While I do recall the
Republican filibuster of the Zadroga Act, I can't recall a single Democrat who opposed it.
Jon Stewart's coverage of the Republican filibuster is probably the most memorable example of journalistic advocacy I can recall.

Actually, that's not technically true. Majority Leader Harry Reid provided the lone Democrat "nay" vote. Likely a strategic one under Senate rules. After some changes to the bill and passage again in the House, the Senate passed it and President Obama signed it into law.

The more important issue about this is the "sunset" rule in the funding.
That should be extended and the program fully-funded for the lifetime of the victims.
