What is Ivanka doing promoting women's rights in shithole countries ?

Daddy doesn't care for any of that stuff.
Northwest · M
She is not an elected official, but Donald decide to make her an advisor, and send her on vague missions, that she thinks she believes in. On this trip, she gave an interview to the NYT (that her dad attacks and calls fake news and enemy of the people), in which she said that Africa would inspire her daddy. Not clear how though.

On this trip, she's visiting Ethiopia and the Ivory Coast. This is part of the United States’ Women’s Global Development and Prosperity initiative. The project aims to help 50 million women get ahead, by 2025, and has a $50M budget, paid for by US taxpayers. In addition, you have her travel costs (flights, entourage, security, PR, etc.). That would be less than $1 per person helped, by 2025, if the program succeeds.

Simultaneously, the Trump administration, supported by Ivanka, put in a place a policy that bans funding for abortion services, and reproduction overseas, effectively taking away women's right to choose, and running headlong into the three pillars of Ivanka's initiative:

- Eliminating cultural and legal barriers, preventing women from progressing

- Entrepreneurial investment

- Vocational Development

So, Ivanka gets to play princess, and parade her glamorous looks, and promotes her company's wares, to third world starving women, while her daddy fucks them over, by denying them choice.

Oh, and there's the shithole countries thing. I don't know about the Ivory Coast, but I'm pretty sure Ethiopia was one of them countries.
Looking for business opportunities for a new clothing line.
@EarthlingWise Exactly. As long as she can make money, she’ll pay whatever lip service is expedient. The apple’s not far from the tree.

We all know Ivanka is involved with women's rights.
Maybe the question is your definition of shithole countries.
I don't suppose it's possible to visit EVERY country.
Are women's rights an important issue to you?
What are you doing to help?
@Budwick

Even if you wanted to argue that a fetus is a person (and that's a hard argument to make) no person has the right to another person's body.

The government shouldn't be allowed to regulate what a woman must do with her body.
End of story.

@Pikachu
a fetus is a person (and that's a hard argument to make)
Actually, it's quite simple. We can even toss in some science to ensure no magic tricks.

In the history of mankind there have been billions of human births. Each and every human pregnancy has ended up with a human baby. Not one giraffe, dolphin, or lion. Turns out the human fetus has the same DNA as the full term child.

And even 'the woman' has no right to murder another human being.
She does have rights and even responsibilities to prevent pregnancy. And in the event of total breakdown of everything reasonable to prevent pregnancy, there are morning after pills, and she has several weeks before a heartbeat is detectable to get an abortion.

she is so helpful exploiting workers for her product lines including kids
Why is there so many posts today that seem to be anti women. I’m guessing it’s national ‘i’m not giving my man any sex day’. So you dicks are complaining.
@Gingerbreadspice This isn’t anti-women, because the OP isn’t. It’s about the irony in this president’s daughter’s pretense, since her father couldn’t care less about women’s rights here or any place else in the world.

She's there to negotiate contracts to build factories for her brand. Getting cheap labor is the real reason of the visit.

because actual feminists wont

Because they do not value women’s rights in those poor countries there at all. You are clearly misguided and downright nasty.
JamesHanes · 26-30, M
The Clintons among many others were some of the worst exploiters of women in history. Trump is not perfect but still. @RodionRomanovitch

@JamesHanes The Clintons ! Come back when you have something pertinent to add.
Because the U.S. is a neo-Jacobin empire which is dedicated to imposing these values on the rest of the world. Republicans and Democrats are just two wings of liberalism.

@pagandad And the Trump administration refusing all US government health funding to NGO's that perform or promote abortions in said shithole countries is not stamping all over women's rights in a most vindictive way ? I'm confused now.

Wouldn’t have been there if it wasn’t an important initiative to the President.
JMO but each President and administration has had their various agendas, and have subtly used either high ranking females, or First Ladies, or in this case, a world known woman to do the ground work for those agendas.@jackjjackson

Better than sending someone who can give them aid deals
Does it really matter what SHE is doing? No it does not.
