How many times does Ilhan Omar need to apologize for antisemitic statements before I conclude she is either stupid or antisemitic?

2012 -- Omar apologized for not "disavowing the anti-Semitic trope I unknowingly used"

February 2019 - Omar issued an apology stating, "I am grateful for Jewish allies and colleagues who are educating me on the painful history of anti-Semitic tropes"

And yet, she persisted:

On February 27, 2019, Omar spoke at a bookstore and said of her critics, "I want to talk about the political influence in this country that says it is OK for people to push for allegiance to a foreign country." The statements were quickly criticized as allegedly drawing on anti-Semitic tropes of dual loyalty.

She's basking in all the attention. This need for attention that some people have is a liability in the long term and is what make them seem like the Baby-trump despite their policy differences.

@Burnley123 It's a political action committee like all others that operate on all sides of the spectrum and in-between. People of all stripes seem to need a "club" to which they can belong that keeps them aligned with people of like minds whether it is the NRA, Morons for Baby-trump, or socialists.

I find it interesting that this kind of stuff gets major media attention when Republicans are openly pushing the classic antisemitic conspiracy theory that rich "globalist" Jews like George Soros are trying to replace the white race with migrants.

Criticism of Israel = antisemitic.

Pushing narratives that [i]literally got people killed in Pittsburgh[/i] = just fine.

@SW-User I believe you on that but then it seems that there is a limit of permissable difference within mainstream discourse which is being policed here. A systemic critique is out of bounds.

Trump himself tweeted a Soros conspiracy and (unlike what Ohmar has said) it really was a conspiracy with not material basis. It never got think kind of reaction. I respect you and I'm being honest in that I think this is about political criticism.

@Burnley123 I think Obama managed to support Israel in words and deeds, and also make it clear that he opposed the settlements. If she wants to attack lobbying that's fine, but she must be aware of how it can come across and use words very carefully.

Is that an actual political criticism? Does the Israeli lobby "push" for "allegiance" to Israel? Well, if so, let's see the evidence. What influence?

@SW-User of course. Anti semetism is on the rise in Europe and its a worrying thing. It is promoted by the nationalist right though it does sometimes occur on the left. I think we'll have to agree to disagree on this.
