Aaaaand Trump reopens the gov't WITHOUT HIS WALL!! Thoughts?

Why bc g damned democrats don't know how to work together in a bipartisan way? They all including Republicans need to get a real job, it or a pill in the teeth.

XamadtheFirst · 26-30, M
@TheeOriginalAmazingsEXLover unfortunately, years of partisan politics have kept both side from putting on their grown-up pants and compromising on a solution. Dems agree border security needs improvement, but they don't want to put 5.7 billion into a wall that won't do anything about tunnels or airplanes (drugs they can't catch). The GOP doesn't like the idea of a wall either, but it get's their votes in so they just kind of roll with it.

It's a bullshit reason to say the least.
@TheeOriginalAmazingsEXLover I had a fairly conservative upbringing when I was growing up, so I don't think it's fair to say conservatives are "born". Made, raised to think about the little guy (small business owners count too) and not about big business. Far as I'm concerned, the last real conservative leader we had was GW. Might not have liked his policies, but more of what I think of when I hear the word conservative.
@GohantheThird
That's intolerance, your view of what a CONSERVATIVE is close minded. Both GW, and Junior were more moderate than CONSERVATIVE or Republican.
@GohantheThird
What I meant by CONSERVATIVE Values being bred into a person, or the ways a TRUE CONSERVATIVE is born, every truly strong CONSERVATIVE leader has been spoken for in an I'll matter, "OH, he or she is a liberal, dEmocrat"! Every dEmocrat was saying in 2015, "TRUMP is a dEmocrat", but when he officially started his exploratory committee and announced his big, he said he was a Republican; huge let down to dEmocrat platform.
Ronald Wilson Reagan, his middle name was Wilson, his parents were huge Woodrow Wilson fans, he was a huge liberal dEmocrat! He became a huge movie star and dEmocrat political Governor, California and PRESIDENT if THEE UNITED STATES of AMERICA. Anyway, he was spoken for in 1981 - 1989, dEmocrats screwed him in California and he became a Republican. Huge let down to the dEmocrat party!

@SeymourWeiner if you can even call Trump a conservative. At this point, he's just a nut.

Why is he obsessed with government funding for his wall if Mexico is paying for it...

as soon as the FAA grounded flights on the east coast, I told my wife that he would sign the temporary measure by this afternoon.

What Trump (and Congress) don't seem to understand is that the shutdown ACTUALLY hurts the economy.

Cash flow effects EVERYONE.

@QuixoticSoul who was the genius who suggested that folks just take loans? They are all a bunch of out of touch morons.

Supposedly, Trump is a good businessman... but then how could he not understand the impact of cash flow disruption?

Back pay doesn't mean shit if you're living from check to check.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@JoeyFoxx The loans thing is actually not quite as retarded as it sounds, government credit unions will do zero-interest loans for government employees who are working without pay right now - no help for those furloughed of course, but at least relief for those working.

The “tell the grocers you’ll pay them back” thing though... that’s just nuts.
JoeyFoxx · 51-55, M
@QuixoticSoul Careful what you wish for. If everyone needs an interest/fee-free loan at the same time, then a bank can run low on cash.

Why wasn't the president or anyone else promoting this from the beginning?

Because it defeats the purpose.

They WANTED it to be painful.

And honestly, it can't be as simple as you think. Many of the folks who were not getting paid and running into problems are college educated and informed folks.
Well the wall is an extraordinary waste of time and money. If they really needed money to build this wall, they should use the budget from this countries overinflated military budget. What? Did she just say take money from the military? She hates this country she supports communism!!!! AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!
Platinum · M
For three weeks to work with the democrats to solve the wall problem then it shuts again if not resolved...
Platinum · M
@Pikachu I do, at the moment we are leaving on 29th March with a no deal and the only thing that might change is we leave with a good deal ...it might get extended but we are leaving...I'm happy as it has no impact on my life...
Thinkerbell · 41-45, F
@Platinum The people against the wall are mostly liberal/progressive/socialist Democrats, who see the large influx of illegals as a source of future votes and political power. Their long-term goal is the Californiarization of the whole country.

The harm done by the criminal element entering the country is just collateral damage, as far as the progressives are concerned, a small price to pay for the greater good of building socialism.

Mass immigration is no good for any country against controlled being what is good for most countries@Thinkerbell

I just think about the damage done to ask the people who went without pay for that period. Most folks can't manage that without devastation.

@Sicarium the alternative is to do what everyone else does and try to find another job. Which would become another interesting problem of a reopening government having to scramble to backfill positions.
JoeyFoxx · 51-55, M
you boys are children. Seriously.

Sicarium · 46-50, M
Not exactly. He reached a 3 week deal with Congress.

And now Anne Coulter doesnt want to have his baby any more. I suppose her flock is just another thin slice off the Trump vote. Maybe he can call his nest book "The art of the humiliating Cave in".

whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@QuixoticSoul Yep.. You can just feel the love. You just know McConnell went to explain to Trump that he couldnt count on the Senate if he was going to be an idiot. That would not have been a comfortable conversation.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@whowasthatmaskedman It’s also bloody hilarious to see that useless do-nothing call a ww2 fighter pilot a wimp 🙄

Yes, Trump did look reasonable didn't he. Next nancy is going to be reasonable even if it kills her. Let her "glow" today, it will make her losing the war that much more enjoyable.
JoeyFoxx · 51-55, M
War? What war?

I think you have lost perspective

@katielass

Just a step in the process. Trump
Knew people needed to be paid ... he will use his nuclear option if he doesn’t get what he wants

We can all get a breath of fresh air for 3 weeks.
