Since taking control of the US House of Representatives, the "Obstruct" Party has refused to pass any government funding legislation. Instead of staying in DC and working on it, Nancy and other "Obstruct" Party leaders are off to Brussels and elsewhere, after having recently returned from a beach vacation.

Will they pass any funding legislation before the next Presidential election in 2020? Will big sections of government be closed permanently? What do you think is going to happen?

Also, the House has passed 4 funding bills since the shutdown. McConnell has obstructed them all.

Actually, the Democrat-controlled House has passed funding bills to end the government shutdown.

It's the Republican-controlled Senate that hasn't.

We survived obstructionist Congress for six years during the Obama Administration. We'll survive anything that happens with Congress the next two years. The jury is still out (literally) on Trump's actions.

There have been a few funding bills proposed. None of them have been to a vote in the Senate.

Mmmm, irony.

@Greybare actually the House is where appropriations originate, constitutionally. They've even offered to meet DTs request for money, as long as it's not for a wall. It's the majority in the Senate obstructing.

Given the Ds believe a wall is a pointless ineffective boondoggle, and hate trump with a vengeance, they've been remarkably unobstructive

@Greybare The Senate isn't even getting the chance to say whether they support or reject what the House has done, Mitch is blocking the bills from ever reaching the floor.

Exactly.

But then since President Trump doesn't understand the Constitution, it's not surprising that many of his supporters haven't either.

They've passed finance bills several times. That's the perogative of the House.

The Senate hasn't voted on them (even though it's membership overwhelmingly supports reopening the govt) because McConnell doesn't want to climb out of the President's backside and embarrass him. (Though DT isn't capable of being embarrassed but that's beside the point).
voters will give their opinion .. its trump V chuck n nancy.. time will tell.

everyones saying trump can end this any time.. well so can shmuck n nancy.

the whole reason the shutdown happened is because they wouldnt negotiate like adults.. now theyre demanding the government be open .. then negotiate.. err. 🤔
