Transgender military ban back in effect. Our brave, brave soldiers apparently get too afraid to do their job if there are trans folk around.

Or they don’t need the distraction of needing 18 different bathrooms while out on patrol...
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout @MarineBob Or people can do what they've started doing here. Single toilet restrooms that say "restroom" and nobody gives a shit.

Saves money and space as occupancy numbers require only one restroom.

@CopperCicada not to pick nits but that is exactly where they do give a shit 😏
@ViciDraco I'd like to see trans-gender sexuality-- which isn't going anywhere-- get rid of our bathroom stupidity.

Example. I just ate at a Taco Bell that has two generic "whatever your sex is" bathrooms. They all have a toilet and urinal. If you want you could piss in the floor drain.

I come back to my job, and some floors have a men's and women's rooms. Some have just one. Some just the other. The first floor has a generic "whatever your gender is" bathroom as does the basement where the machine shop is.

Because of the low average occupancy, none of these floors need more than one unisex toilet. The space could be used for servers, break rooms.

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout they are the ones who signed up,they knew there was a chance of fighting
Just curious ViciDraco-are you a veteran? If so, did you ever serve with openly gay men or openly gay women while you served? I'd sure like an answer.
RC Factor.

@LvChris I have some family in the service that care very deeply, but when I ask why they just repeat conservative taking points. I also have friends that were live combat veterans in Bosnia who support everyone in the military so long as they can be trusted to have your back when things go to shit.

The Commanding General at our local army base is openly gay and she's also a very nice person I don't always agree with her points of view but eventually one of us gives in (normally me) I don't agree with lbgt flags or parades on base@ViciDraco
The excuse given is that trans people would “have too many healthcare issues” which statistically was unfounded. But that was the same excuse originally used for pushback in accepting women in the military, too.

Best if they get a say in what happens. They are the ones putting their life on the line.
MarineBob · 56-60, M
@curiosi NO MAM they do NOT and can NOT have a say it is the military you abide by the directives put out by your command who get theirs from the politicians

there are no trannys in the military, no individuality, no free thought, only cut and paste soldiers ready to obey their orders to the death for the good of their country and brothers in arms, it is part of why their service is called a sacrifice.

military service does not exist for women to prove to themselves that they can do what men can do, it exists for them to sacrifice themselves, as men have always done.

What was wrong with "don't ask don't tell" everyone knew anyway
@MarineBob Remember that one scene in An Officer and A Gentleman where Sergeant Foley and Sid totally violated that policy?
Granted, that was IMO one of the few "intelligent" things Clinton did. I served from 68 to 80-USAF. Ran across a number of men who were "gay" and in the service, prior to the Don't ask, Don't tell. One, didn't know him personally, was an AF member, a Viet-Nam vet, injured (p/h) but was outed by another troop. He was forced out-I think if memory serves me, he then ended his life. The man's record was exemplary. Tragic.@MarineBob

Good. They don't belong in the Service.
