I think the Brits should hold a second referendum on Brexit..

No way they would vote again for it.

Another referendum would change this country for years to come, if leave won, then we would still be in the same position except not long to sort out a deal..if remain win, then leave would be in uproar and there would be more chaos than now...I'm fed up with being told I never knew what I vote for; I voted to close our borders so we can get control who comes here, I also voted for us to trade under WTO , but if we can get a tariff free deal with the eu I would be happy...whatever happens we will all have to live with it...

Well because for one thing the vote wasn't clear as I've said. Democracy isn't one vote and eveyone shut up. Hell we have elections every 5 years and sometimes quicker. Do Labour just shut up when the tories win? The point of democracy is convincing the country that your way is right, that doesn't stop after one vote. I doubt we would have vote after vote but if enough people wanted it then I guess we could. Anyway we both know that had remain won eurosceptics wouldn't just stop. They'd keep trying to convince people that we should leave.

@thatscottishguy think people are fed up with politicians now and how out of touch they are with the ordinary people and the real world
thatscottishguy · 26-30, M
When are people not fed up with it😂.

I don't understand this. Since when do we call for a do-overs on elections? I could see if there was evidence of it being fixed or something but it seems the public has spoken on this. What if you get your second referendum and the result is the same?

@Carver Government by referendum is an odd thing -- I think there is buyer's remorse. Kinda like voting out someone you initially liked.

Maybe the USA should call for another vote to elect (or not) Donald Trump then....
he is more of an embarrassing joke even than BREXIT.
Anyone fancy a Big Mac??

@MarkA lol, two years to go.

Til he gets in again......??

I'm in favour of a second ref but it would be a toxic campaign and there is no certainty than remain would win.

The polls have shifted little since the referendum because most Brexit voters just blame the fiasco on May for being a crap negotiator. This, whilst true, is about ten percent of the story. Anti immigrant sentiment is a least as strong here as it is in the US and its really really difficult to convince people that they have been conned.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@SW-User Yes, it's how things currently stand. 40% of the public want a no deal Brexit (or think they do). 90% of politicians don't want that but there is no majority amongst them for any one particular alternative. A no deal Brexit is what happens if they don't agree.

@Burnley123 Such interesting parallels with our "wall" shutdown debacle.

Remain got fined for overspending and an extra 9 million on Cameron's leaflet and they split up into five diffent groups to fiddle how much they could spend ...now tell me what lies in your own words not links
Platinum · M
Those links don't work, tell us in your own words, remain were fined for overspending but none of that made any difference to the vote, now tell me in your own words where they lied , I've asked others on here and they ignore the question....@OggggO
MarkA · 56-60, M
But it's soooooo entertaining having DT as president in the USA. And....takes our UK minds off our own inadequate, puerile, inept, self serving politicians. Just goes to show there's always someone worse off than us! Lol
MrMonnyPenny · 22-25, M
@MarkA Donald tusk ?
MarkA · 56-60, M
McDonalds Trump....
MartinII · 70-79, M
You are quite wrong. If there were a second referendum, with remain or leave the options (as there won’t and shouldn’t be) the outcome would be just as difficult to predict as was the case in 2016.
SmartKat · 56-60, F
I wish the U.S. could undo the 2016 election, and all its bad effects.
You underestimate our national stupidity

How about a third if you don't win or best of 5

You probably can't read...😅@SW-User

@Platinum That's correct -- I was unable to read that I couldn't read.

To solve the difference of opinion perhaps a referendum on whether to hold a second referendum.
