Will the Brexit political crisis ever end?

SW-User
Possibly not. The option no one is really talking about is the EU27 getting fed up and forcing our hand. Although they would prefer the UK as a contributing member, there has to be a point when we're just too much of a disruption to normal business.

@Burnley123 I don't know about the politicians but I am in some EU country most weeks. Brexit has been the most common lunchtime discussion for most of the last 3 years, except for during major football tournaments. The general tone had gone from mild disbelief that we would vote to leave to openly laughing at the shambles we have created.

@SW-User I knew a lot of EU people when I lived in London. It was too close to the bone for them to find it funny. I knew one Italian girl who said Brexit was one of the main reasons she left the country. She worked really hard in the hotel industry and felt Brexit was like the country saying FU to her and anyone like her.

@Burnley123 Yes, I had the same with people I knew in my last job. Two moved back to Germany straight after the referendum because they didn't feel welcome.

Not as long as it's Theresa May's responsibility.

@Nyloncapes We haven't had a decent Prime Minister at all in the last 40 years.
Nyloncapes · 61-69, M
@NankerPhelge your so right there, who would you like to see next prime minister
NankerPhelge · 61-69, M
@Nyloncapes My what?

I suppose the immediate crisis will have some sort of resolution, though what it will be and how it will be reached is anyone’s guess. But whatever the resolution is, it will leave roughly half the country thoroughly disillusioned and many of them determined to reverse whatever the outcome has been. I’m afraid British politics will have been poisoned for a generation.

Buyer's remorse. It seems some of our US voters are experiencing the same thing.

@Northwest Yeah I can't fail to see the links. TBH, I deliberately worded this like the question two down in the politics section.

It will one day. Just a long way away from here it seems 🤣

Good question

My daughter asked me which country is not completely messed up, or war torn or not rampant with earthquakes that she can move to

🤷🏽‍♀️

Btw, Brexit is now known as brekshit in our house
