That's actually a pretty good counterargument to the whole "guns don't kill people; people kill people" thing. Never thought of it that way.

That said, I do have conflicting views about guns and drugs. For drugs, when they're illegal, usage goes up as in prohibition; and, quality goes down. It's common to get street cocaine that is 5% pure. Average is 20% pure. Street ecstasy is 95% fake, with dangerous lab chemicals in them. Then people turn to problematic legal alternatives or just cheaper alternatives like cough medicine, bathsalts, spice, flakka.

Which also results in illegal funding of billions upon billions to drug cartels and other criminal organizations, indirectly funding human trafficking and murder.

As it stands, with drugs illegal, we spend billions upon billions of dollars trying to deal with the side effects of addiction. With little success.

Whereas, if they were legal and regulated, not only would the purity and safety of each dose be guaranteed--leading to significantly less overdose deaths--it would also defund criminal organizations and raise tax money with which we could use to combat the side effects of addiction more efficiently, and potentially making money, rather than bleeding money and lives.

Whereas, with guns, I think it's more possible to virtually completely eliminate them through society via legal means.

Drugs are not that bad. In fact they can help people. Bad people on drugs do even more bad things. Good people on drugs do not start doing things that is completely against their character.
