When I was younger, I would have considered myself a liberal. Now I'm not sure what I am anymore. I certainly don't consider myself conservative. I've come to realize I really dislike extremism and hypocrisy, and there is no shortage of those in any political ideology.
"Libertarianism," as in the Libertarian Party, is right-libertarian. The left-to-right line is an economic line; the libertarian-to-authoritarian line is social. So, for example, if you are pro-choice, against restrictions on gay marriage, etc., you are more libertarian on the social scale. Anarcho-communists are extremely far-left extreme libertarians. Stalin was an extremely far-left extreme authoritarian. Ayn Rand was a far-right libertarian. Hitler was a right-leaning extreme authoritarian.
Well, maybe you can be disappointed in politics, but idk about not caring about them. You should care about the decisions made, since they affect millions of people.
