How many more ass whippings can the Orange Moron stomach?

Pelosi owned him. Bigly.

To be fair, Pelosi was kinda being a dumbass. She knew what the problem was, but acted like it was irrelevant. Her thing about "setting the tone" for a budget getting passed sounds like political fluff, considering that the both of them would have to work together. She should have addressed the specific issues over which the GOP and DNC disagree.

@bijouxbroussard The President is not the boss of the country; he's one branch of the legislative. In order to get shit done, he has to negotiate with the other two branches, which he was at least ostensibly attempting to do. And yeah, I'd wager to say that Trump doesn't care taht much about the American people, but he cares abou thow he's percieved by the American people. Trump has sacrificed the wall to avoid causing a government shutdown because he knew at the time that causing a government shutdown when his party was in control of all three branches was political suicide.

And by the way, it's not like Pelosi is necessarily innocent in all this. Government shutdown is kinda like a game of chicken, with both parties negotiating against each other, with a mutual deterrent that neither side wants to be blamed for. By denying funding for the wall, the DNC used that deterrent, and in so doing, participated in the game.

I'm not saying that he'll change-- I'm saying he was never too stubborn to attempt negotiations with, and not trying guarantees failure.

@BlueVeins
The President is not the boss of the country
Brilliant. Maybe try telling him that?
@BlueVeins Trump’s announced that he will shut down the government—indicating an intention to do so—if he doesn’t get his way. This after saying in 2012, “The president’s the leader...he’s got to get everyone in the room and lead. A shutdown means the president’s weak.”
He’s not that worried about how he’s perceived. He will TELL you that everyone loves him. And Trump believes the president is in charge—he’s said so. That’s why even after criticizing his predecessor for signing executive orders, he began his presidency signing them like grocery coupons, even though he had the full support of the GOP behind him.
Pelosi’s awesome. I met her once at a fundraiser. She’s really nice, too. But she doesn’t play.

No one can say she's complicit or incompetent.
JonathanC · 61-69, M
Pelosi and Schumer handed Trump his ass. How anyone could think otherwise beggars belief.
Fernie · F
@JonathanC Schumer was awesome!!!
JonathanC · 61-69, M
@Fernie He usually is.

I watched the Fox News clip. Trump definitely did not display his Art of the Deal on this day.

And he said that a large portion of the Wall is being built. Helloooo

That video just reinforces what a maniac he is. In a sane world Pelosi owned him...in the bizarre world of trump...she didn't

Today he said, again, Mexico will pay for the wall and that Cohen was just trying to embarrass him.
JonathanC · 61-69, M
@softspokenman If he insists Mexico will pay for it, then he certainly does not need the $5 billion from American taxpayers he is asking for.
"And no reason to shut down the Gov." Schumer

What were you watching?
Fernie · F
@GunSmoke9 go to youtube...you'll see it right away
GunSmoke9 · 56-60, M
@daisymay What's sad is you having your talking points even before the meeting.
daisymay · 51-55, T
@GunSmoke9 Are you saying he preemptively threw his tantrum and papers before the meeting? If so, I question your understanding of time's linear progression.

My comments came well after the event.

What's sad is your pathetic attempt to revise history.
MethDozer · M
Don't look like either one had much going for them there. Just typical politics, nothing new or different.
MethDozer · M
@daisymay Never said he was a winner or won. lol
daisymay · 51-55, T
@MethDozer No, you're just defending that viewpoint. HUGE difference 🙄
MethDozer · M
@daisymay Not true. lmao
