@BetweenKittensandRiots I'll post her a link. Lol
@Burnley123 are you on twitter? I tried too.

No we cannot constantly have re-do's because we didn't like the result
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@BetweenKittensandRiots Yes agreed but sometimes the left should not want the centre to collapse, especially on Germany where the left is weak and the AFD is rising.
Budwick · 70-79, M
I don't live there, so take that into account.\

But, what was wrong with the first time the people voted on it?
The courts tried the same BS in the USA when people voted that marriage is between a man and woman. The court said we couldn't do that.
@Burnley123 the greens have been doing better than AFD.

"Leave means leave!"

"So you voted for this deal?"

"No this is the worst deal in human history."

"So what deal do you want?"

".... leave means leave!"
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@CountScrofula Pretty much.

@Burnley123 My wife's recent tweet on Rees-Mogg:

"Heartless Victorian low-grade bone-goblin, Jacob Rees-Mogg, you are cursed to wander the earth in the dried-out husk of a once-warm flesh suit, atoning eternally for your greed and your hate, your choking breath the dust of emergency contraception."
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@CountScrofula You married well.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
Okay.. Call me a cynic. But I see some politics in the mix here. I believe this last minute cave in to Europe is a tactic to stiffen popular resolve against a terrible deal , coupled with a refusal to re-hold a referendum. (rightly so) and prepare the people for a hard brexit exit. There will be hardship. But "We cant be blamed, Europe make it hard and we had to dig in because the people said so."

@whowasthatmaskedman that's actually a really good point
ArtieKat · M
@whowasthatmaskedman That's a bit too devious for me - but a normal day at the office for our elected representatives.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@Burnley123 Quite possibly. I dont see May as a leader in this. I think she was always the "acceptable" choice at the time. Maybe a Leader type will emerge now with a position and yell "follow me."
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
Yeah. May's milquetoast awfulness has demonstrated that there actually isn't a solution anyone will accept. The situation is impossible.
thatscottishguy · 26-30, M
I've never understood what's so awful about having a referendum once we know the deal we will have. Nobody had a clue what brexit would look like in 2016 and neither side is happy with what has been proposed.

@thatscottishguy See my previous reply to @Burnley123’s post.

@thatscottishguy Glasgow... right?😉

To be honest: I react already allergically whenever I HEAR the word Brexit...

Yes, but the question should be clearer. I personally think there should have been a bigger threshold to leave, rather than a simple majority. It's clear that the issue divides the country and if theres no clear majority we should leave things as they are. Interestingly, when Thatcher was ousted as Conservative leader she polled 55% of the votes but didn't get the 15% lead required by the rules at the time. Finally, remember Farage said before the referendum that if the vote was 48-52 in favour of remain we would gave to have another vote.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@SW-User That is a point but I think it's more the point that people were not told what they were voting on.

If this deal had been the one on offer during the referendum it would have lost by a landslide.
SW-User
@Burnley123 Completely agree. It has been a compmete shambles from beginning to end. It was such a badly worded questiob that leave voters can interpret it in whatever way they want.

Should the United Kingdom remain a member of the European Union or leave the European Union.

Not as simple as it sounds.
SW-User
Yes. I suggest two more referendums and the best out of three wins
SW-User
@SW-User We've already had two, the first leg was much more clear cut.

Do you think the United Kingdom should stay in the European Community

@SW-User Extra time and penalties 😁

@SW-User is absolutely right. Tell your MP that if he or she wants to be re-elected in your constituency to listen to the will of the local electorate.
MartinII · 70-79, M
Leaving aside the ethics of the matter, you (and everyone else I have seen who advocates a second referendum) ignore what seem to me to be the crucial points: what would the question, or questions, be, and how could it or they be framed in a way that was fair to both leavers and remainers.

Two out of three
Ironicman · 56-60, M
I think we need to consult Paul the Octupus who hit the headlines during the 2010 World Cup owing to his ability to predict scores. I'm sure he'll be able to tell us what way to go.

Wait a minute, Pauls dead. 😞 We are finished.
No. About time you remoaners respected the countries choice.
@BetweenKittensandRiots @Burnley123 I voted out but only because I wanted control over immigration and the amount that can come over here to live. I don’t see why anyone who voted Brexit would change their minds, only a fool believes that Brexit will make a huge difference to our country. I hate politics and politicians in general they’re all idiots every party and Theresa May included.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@Gingerbreadspice I get why you are disillusioned but I don't see this as giving you what you want, more the opposite.
Nope it’s not want we want and this rate we won’t even leave but at least we go our point across.
