Though he may be less remembered in modern day USA.

He was famous in North America, too, at least when I took World History, as a leader and a man who opposed and ended slavery where he could. Early 1800's as I recall.

Sort of. I learned about him in like 6th grade a very long time ago haha. Bolivia's named after him I think.
@Mariocrespo8546 Both Bolivia AND Venezuela were named after him. (I did not know that ... just looked it up.)
