Trump haters. You hate Trump and you want hate on him and remove him from office.

But, if you were President after Obama, what would you have done that would make you a better President than Trump?
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
1. Tell the truth.
2. Demonstrate interest in people instead of your made-for-TV image.
3. Don't do all the things you criticized Obama for doing (playing golf during working hours, relying on Executive Orders, etc.).
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@carsonfry That's a talking point, but I've already answered this. Scroll up to find (and read) the answer and let me know what questions you have.

@carsonfry
I do not believe Trump lies, I believe he bluffs.
And when I was a child I too thought like a child and believed in Santa Claus.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@carsonfry
Trump gave a tax cut to companies that encouraged them to make things in the USA and pay taxes in the USA, and hire Americans to make those products. That results in lower unemployment and more taxes paid by more employees paying taxes and a company making more widgets that may pay a lower rate, but because they make so much more widgets, they pay more taxes in the end, or even the same. But they employed more americans that will pay taxes.
This is probably the silliest thing I’ll read all day. Literally all of that is wrong, it’s kind of amazing.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
I would have done the following things:
1. Passed tax reform that would raise taxes on the top few percent, drop taxes on the lower and middle class, and removed a significant number of tax breaks.
2. Continued a responsible environmental program instead of rolling back environmental protections such as the one designed to regulate depositing coal waste into streams and rivers.
3. Continued a responsible safety program instead of rolling back OSHA regulations that protect worker safety.
4. Appointed a Supreme Court justice in the mold of Breyer/Kagin/Sotomayor/Ginsburg
5. Appointed federal justices that are in the same mold of those mentioned in item 4.
6. Maintained our involvement in the Paris Climate Accord.
7. Maintained our involvement in NAFTA and the TPP.
8. Pushed for bipartisan immigration reform to include a path to citizenship.
9. Played no golf whatsoever, let alone on 1/3 of my days in office.
10. Stayed away from Twitter completely. It is only a distraction from governance.
11. Maintained the size of the Bears Ears and Grand Staircase Escalante National Monuments, and asked my Secretary of Interior to identify other wild areas worthy of protection.
12. Supported net neutrality.
13. Appointed an aggressive FEMA Manager who would prepare the agency to deal with the larger storms we will be having as a result of global climate change.
14. Maintained rules on federal infrastructure designed to address global climate change effects.
15. Appointed the best people to cabinet positions, regardless of party affiliation, including several prominent Republicans to key positions.
16. Strived to unite people, and be the president for the entire nation, not divide the nation.

There are more, but this should give you a pretty good idea of my focus.
carsonfry · 22-25, M
@windinhishair I have to admit. You are the first person to actually offer a plan that you think would make you a better President than Trump.

I do not agree with you for the most part, but you are the first to actually answer the question.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@carsonfry Reasonable people can disagree, but at some point we have to get back to discussing policy that will advance our national interests. Hopefully once Trump is removed from office we'll get back to that, though it is going to take Congress to make it happen.
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
I’d be a decent human being. Let’s start with that. Who killed the bill to repeal and replace Obamacare? If Trump wasn’t such a divisive man, I’d bet that Trump would have been able to accomplish what he wanted for healthcare. But no, he wants to be The Man but refused to be the bigger man.

Secondly, I’d start to learn at least the basics of fundamental leadership. He has no clue about leadership.

I admit that Trump has given the average American approximately $50 to $100 in their paychecks thru tax cuts. Hooray!
I suppose that’s a fair trade off for increasing the National debt. I’m not qualified to analyze the negative impact of what that will do for our future.

Having said that, I will admit that I am far from being qualified to be POTUS let alone a manager of the small restaurant I work at.
@SimplyTracie The national debt more than doubled under Obama
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@thedarkside That’s the best excuse I’ve heard to add to the deficit. Good one.
@SimplyTracie Google it and find out the truth.
HerKing · 61-69, M
You asked me this yesterday and I agree with Misty in addition to what I said I'd do. You seem to be asking on the basis that Trump is the standard that cannot be bettered. I have news for you, if Trump is that unassailable pinnacle of propriety we're all fucked. It isn't hate. It's being scared of what batshit crazy thing he wants to propose next. He isn't worth the emotional expenditure to be hated, not least because he's not worthy to have any emotion expended on him.
I don't want hate on him. He seems to though.

Which is one thing I'd try not to do: promote hate, fear and division.

I'd also try and do what every other President besides Trump has done: realize the campaign is over and the job involves being President of the entire country and not just those who voted for him.

There are probably dozens of things that Trump has sucked at, but I think those two very basic goals are things Trump could have accomplished quite easily and chose not to.
@carsonfry I just mentioned two relatively easy things, that might well have resulted in less "hate on" the President.

You want some more substantive stuff?

Don't piss on your own people and don't ask for loyalty to yourself personally instead of to the office.

Accept that you're not the king, but merely an executive in a tripartite government. One piece of major legislation was passed in the last two years with a solidly Republican Congress. Granted, that's not all Trump's fault, but too much time was spent protecting him and not trying to do actual legitimate legislative work.

Pretend to have a semblance of morality and compassion. Charlottesville, McCain's funeral and Puerto Rico were examples of where a tiny bit of human empathy could have helped the country emotionally as well as made for a stronger President.

Lying... I'll skip that one, because some of that is part of the job, but not doing so compulsively about just about everything all the time would be good. Lets say lie less and do it more judiciously.

Don't act like it's all a game that will be over when your done. Tax cuts and judges excepted, the only even arguably worthwhile actions have been executive actions, lots of which were just about reversing Obama's executive actions. If the next guy wants to do what Trump did and reverse every decision, he can.

@MistyCee

You're my fucking hero right now!!!
@WalksWith Thanks, but I think we need real heroes in Congress and at the voting booths in November, and good people in government doing their jobs to help run the country in the meantime, especially with a hurricane hitting.

Ranting on social media is more like therapy, tbh.

It's being reported that Manafort is making a plea deal with Mueller's team...Now after his convictions after the last trial, Trump said that Manafort was a brave man and it was unfair (Presumably he's okay with convicted criminals)...I wonder if he'll say he's brave now? 🤔
Fernie · F
@HerKing he'll call him a loser and whine that the democrats/Obama and Hillary made him say it
fazer1k · 56-60, M
Follow on from the good work Obama had done rather than seek to destroy it at every opportunity.
Fernie · F
everything Obama did, said and thought made him a better POTUS and HUMAN BEING than this monster
beckyromero · 36-40, F
For one, I wouldn't be intimately familiar with Putin's private parts.
Fernie · F
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Geez Ms Romero not you too going over the edge. I’m assuming that was a joke until you say otherwise. @beckyromero
Not having contempt for the American people is a good start.

Pretty amazing that's now a "wish list" item. Fuck me.
carsonfry · 22-25, M
There must be thousands of Trump haters on this site at this moment. Why will not just a few go on the record to tell all of us how they could have done it better. If Trump is so bad, what could or would you do that could have created a better result?
HerKing · 61-69, M
@jackjjackson Invent a time machine and make his ancestor not emigrate to America. That would be a start..
therighttothink50 · 56-60, M
@carsonfry There are thousands of fake names aka leftist algorithms on this site. The leftist technocrats incessant replication of an infinite number of leftst propaganda bots is becoming widely known. Don't buy into the illusion, because it is soon going to come to an end.

When Trump declassifies those FISA documents, Obama and his many minions will be exposed, then be prosecuted and sent to jail. Yes justice is sometimes a long process for elitists, but it is coming soon.
SW-User
@HerKing I cannot support your idea. NOBODY wants him in my country. 🤢
We are too glad that his ancestors emigrated to USA! 😛
Graylight · 51-55, F
Follow the example of my predecessor.
JoeyFoxx · 51-55, M
Why should anyone bother to respond to an insincere Trump troll post?
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@JoeyFoxx I am beginning to see your point.
eli1601 · 70-79, M
You're beating your head against a TDS wall
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
These jackasses seem to think Mrs Clinton won the election lol. NOT

Graylight · 51-55, F
@jackjjackson That's okay by you? "bad, noncriminal things" are grounds for impeachment. It won't happen, but to think this guy is clean because you can't see the blood on his hands is asinine.
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@Graylight They also like talking about Obama. Perhaps there’s a deep seeded desire to bring him back. 😜
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
The identical report issued by Comey and you nominated and voted for Mrs Clinton anyway. Hypocritical to say the least. @Graylight
JoeyFoxx · 51-55, M
Before anyone else responds to this post, please peruse the OP’s other posts.

Do not blame me if you get all itchy from reading them.
JaggedLittlePill · 46-50, F
Wtfever dude. Fucking hell. Go pack sand in your ass.
carsonfry · 22-25, M
@JaggedLittlePill You did not say how you would be better.
JaggedLittlePill · 46-50, F
@carsonfry you did not say anything worthy of a valid response.
carsonfry · 22-25, M
I asked a question and you did not answer it.
