@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout The Berlin Wall was only about 150 kilometers, with nearly 1 patrolman for every kilometer, and had more than one guard tower for every kilometer of wall, along with about twice as many K9s, and 20 bunkers with hundreds of stationed guards.

To do the same thing over 3150km of border would require an army of men and K9s, not to mention the costs of building and maintaining the facilities. And since most illegal immigration occurs at checkpoints or airports anyway, the entire wall effort would only be partially effective anyway.

Also, China built the Great Wall...and was then ruled by Mongol and Manchu dynasties for hundreds of years. XD
I think they might go to home depot to buy the bricks and get the day laborers to lend a hand in wall building

It's an imaginary financial burden for an imaginary people building an imaginary wall.

Obviously, you've missed the billions of businessess mexico lost that came back to the US and has already benefitted Americans. They've already paid for it 5 times over. No one ever said they were going to write a check. We wouldn't take one from them anyway, it wouldn't be good.
NorthernBear · 51-55, M
@katielass There are maybe, maybe, on the outside, 10 businesses generating more jobs in the US and citing Trump as the reason. It's because of his promise of lower taxes and less regulation; it has nothing to do with the wall. Like most politicians, his promise is full of bologna. His tariffs (a form of tax) and regulations on trade have resulted in a bailout of American businesses being issued a few months ago. Damned liberal media hasn't talked about it, but it happened, billions of tax dollars being handed to businesses because Trump's policies caused them to lose money. But thanks for saying "billions of businessess." I needed a good chuckle.

Oh, and thanks also for being the person who came closest to answering the question. The question was "who was supposed to pay for this?" The right answer is "Mexico." You didn't say this directly, but did demonstrate that you knew the answer.
It’s going to be yuuuuuggggeee!
