Will Trump Fire Anyone For This?

‘He deserves better – he served his country’: Shocking photo shows ill veteran lying on the FLOOR of a VA hospital where his sister says he waited EIGHT HOURS for a bed
Tony Mims, a veteran who was seeking care at a VA Medical Center in Central Tennessee, waited eight hours for a bed on Thursday, his sister said
Gail Hobbs shared a photo of her tired brother lying on the floor while he waited
Hobbs said Mims was denied a bed repeatedly by a doctor who told her he was not going to be admitted as an inpatient, was not sick, and could not have a bed
He was later diagnosed with pneumonia and admitted
The Murfreesboro facility said 'the facts are much different than what’s presented in the Facebook post,' focusing on how long Mims spent on the floor
No comment was made regarding the eight hour wait for a bed, or the fact that Mims was ultimately diagnosed by a second doctor on Friday
The VA said he 'is now an inpatient in our facility and is being well taken care of'
Hobbs, who has been caring for Mims since April, said she hopes to have him placed in a nursing home by the end of the week
Based on those facts she should not and her government pension should be revoked. Based on those facts a complete disgrace.
It certainly needs investigating fully and a rational judgement should not hinge solely on Gail Hobbs statement which seems to have made 'facebook' pages. If, however, the 'duty to care' has been proved to be violated, all those responsible should be publicly flogged, stripped of their belongings and tossed out of the country to another which promotes that sort of disgusting, vile treatment!! Somewhere in the middle-east!!

Well this certainly makes the National Health Service in the UK seem very good. So much for private healthcare if this is the best they can do for someone in need of their help.

@beckyromero Ah, okay. Maybe I shouldn't have answered your question but I think it's fair to say leaving anyone ill on the floor for hours shouldn't be acceptable anywhere.

And I couldn't agree more with that!

The VA has been having massive unacceptable issues in recent years.

307,000 veterans may have died awaiting Veterans Affairs health care, report says

(CNN)Hundreds of thousands of veterans listed in the Department of Veterans Affairs enrollment system died before their applications for care were processed, according to a report issued Wednesday.

The VA's inspector general found that out of about 800,000 records stalled in the agency's system for managing health care enrollment, there were more than 307,000 records that belonged to veterans who had died months or years in the past. The inspector general said due to limitations in the system's data, the number of records did not necessarily represent veterans actively seeking enrollment in VA health care.
In a response to a request by the House Committee on Veterans Affairs' to investigate a whistleblower's allegations of mismanagement at the VA's Health Eligibility Center, the inspector general also found VA staffers incorrectly marked unprocessed applications and may have deleted 10,000 or more records in the last five years.

In one case, a veteran who applied for VA care in 1998 was placed in "pending" status for 14 years. Another veteran who passed away in 1988 was found to have an unprocessed record lingering in 2014, the investigation found.
@beckyromero That's a disgraceful report on the VA. That needs investigating for sure.
