The most fundamenral dividing line in politics is the distiction between those with wealth and power and those without it.

It's what I think. Do you disagree?
carsonfry · 22-25, M
I think you are correct. But we now have a president that is using his wealth and power for the people instead of the government.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@carsonfry Why would supporting Trump be approved by God? Trump does not obey at least five of the ten commandments (adultery, stealing, false witness, coveting his neighbors wife, and remembering the sabbath and keeping it holy). He also is doing nothing to benefit the average American. The tax cut was miniscule, tariffs will eat up all of the tax cut and more, prices will rise, and you'll be worse off in the long run. MAGA?

What I do know is that Trump is a construction guy, and he had to navigate through government rules and regulations to build hotels and golf courses.

And I bet he had to pay some congressmen off to get some of his plans passed.

So Trump understands the black side of government.

He has a pure intent to bring the government back to the people. That is the way it was started.

Trump did not need to do this. He is working harder than ever for no income at all. He is doing it for principle.

You left the country during the reign of Obama. How convenient. So did my rich friend Bob that owned a lot of real estate in this country. He moved back to England and gave the USA his middle finger.

Disingenuous bullshit...He's milking his golf courses and hotels for every cent he can...It's where the foreign leaders stay when they're in DC...hoping to curry favour with Trump.

What the fuck are you talking about? I hadn't left England by then...Since 1963...I came to the US in 2016.

He didn't want to take you? Naughty Bob.
Yes, I think that’s probably the bottom line. Although I don’t understand white people on government assistance here who are Republicans, particularly in the South. The party offers very little other than rhetoric about screwing over groups that are in basically as bad shape as they are.

@bijouxbroussard Sadly, it seems 👊 down has enduring appeal, which is exploited by those who don't need to 👊.

@LvChris I don't know. I'm a smoker too unfortunately. I've bought an e cigarette cos I need to quite. Smoking doesn't makee authentic, I just means I have crap health and low will power.
@LvChris Obama kicked a 30 year habit—permanently—while he was in the White House. I can’t help but wonder if the people who kvetched about his smoking tobacco have anything to say about Trump’s love affair with McDonald’s ? 🍔🍟🥤

In the US, it's a mixed bag, at the top level. Obama, Clinton, Reagan, Ford, Nixon, Johnson, Eisenhower, did not come from "wealth". Bush, Kennedy, FDR, did.

The individual/corporate wealth, however, plays a role behind the scenes. It does not have to be the industrial complex. For instance, the wealth behind Obama, was Hollywood, and people with money, but without an "industrial" agenda (high tech $Bs).

Trump, obviously, is a different story.
hunkalove · 61-69, M
More like the difference between smart and stupid. A lot of inbred morons love Trump.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@hunkalove In saying that, are we not falling into a trap? I come from a working class town that would be considered 'hick'.

That poor working class people like Trump does perhaps point to a failure of the left.
hunkalove · 61-69, M
@Burnley123 I wish people would start blaming Obama and Hillary for Trump, but he wouldn't exist without all the fear and hate that exists deep in America and always has.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@hunkalove So so much of American politics is only based around Obama, hillary and trump. I don't live there so it's only SW and the media I have yo go off but I can't see much else being talked about.

I think perhaps you can get some Trump supporters in board by making them an economic offer? I could be wrong but the anti immigration rhetoric here is less convincing when people feel secure and optimistic about the future.
Graylight · 51-55, F
Not only is it what you think, it's what many experts in the field believe as well.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
Agreed. The dividing line between people is NOT gender, race, religion, or sexual orientation its class. Period. THAT is the true dividing line between people but you sure won't hear that discussed in politics these days. It's all identity politics.

Yeah, you know what I think. Politics is the acquisition and use of power and the jockeying various groups have over it.
patkaren1717 · 36-40, M
Yes i disagree. There are people that fit both sides of the coin.
