So there is a recording of Trump planning to pay off the Stripper?

Not that it makes any difference.. We all know he did it.. But the recording was made by Michael Cohen, his ex lawyer, "secretly", way back in 2016. Kind of makes you wonder what else might be on the record. Also I smell a sting in the air. Let out a few facts and wait for the Twit in Chief to go for the cover up that gets them all...
Sounds like a reasonable prediction. Certainly, Mueller seems to be moving methodically and not making some rather obvious easy plays, but I'm still betting he's dripping so that if and when he drops a bomb, there will be too much out there and already accepted to let Trump's collaborators sweep it under the rug.

For example, I think Trump's walk back this week may be more significant in the long run than his loyalty to Putin. At some point, it seems inevitable that Trump's going to embrace Putin and totalitarianism openly, and he's readying his base for it.

Lots of them may buy it, but the incompetence and weakness may still tarnish Trump's aura.

His base won't care. They're not concerned with moral character.

It's looking like it was Trump's team who leaked it.

True.. If Cohens material lets anything slip about dodgy Russian money, which seems plausible, then that's a whole new can of Federal crime worms waiting for the boy when he steps down. Tax evasion is rather frowned on here. Can't help wondering how much of this will be available before the Mid terms. A Lame duck Trump is more vulnerable to being thrown under a bus.. He has few friends among the Republicans and if he is no longer useful then they might see it as time to clean house. and run with Pence.@RodionRomanovitch

@whowasthatmaskedman I would pray that if it actually came to it then Pence would be so hopelessly compromised by his utter obsequiousness to Trump (not to mention his economy with the truth) that they would have to look elsewhere.

While we could hope so, the party's record with tolerating Trump suggests would suggest otherwise. I believe they would let him stay there , and give the public time to forget the trauma of "the Trump Days." @RodionRomanovitch

Have you ever heard of nuisence payoffs? When someone makes a false claims about a rich person it is common to give that person a bit of money rather than fight it in court. It is cheaper.

Not really. Have you heard of extortion? It doesn’t cost to report it and the state prosecutes it. So, why not report extortion? Wait, I know, I know, it’s because the prosecution has a tape of Trump discussing the details and reason for payment. @hippyjoe1955
