I will name four forms of Armageddon that could happen by the year 2060 to 2100. (See below)

1. It takes 1 acre of arable land to feed one human for one year. We have 15.77 billion acres of arable land. The world population this minute is about 7.6 billion. In 2050. world population is expected to reach 9.7 billion. By the year 2100, world populatation will reach 11.2 billion. Notice anything about the numbers?

2. If commercial fishermen are allowed to continue bulldozing the ocean floor to catch fish, the oceans will be completely dead by the year 2060, because the ocean floor is where new fish hatch. Ocean birds will also die because they will have nothing to eat. Right now fish accounts for 20% of the worlds' protein intake.

3. If the Atlantic ocean heats up too much, the Gulf Stream will stop moving. It is cold water that propels it. If the Gulf Stream stops, life as we know it will end.

4. If an EMP from ANY nation is exploded over another technological nation in space, 90% of the people of the technological nation will die. Food, transport of food, water pumping, are all completely dependent on electricity in technological nations.

Based on the information above, can anyone explain to me WHY we are not focused on these issues? Instead we fritter away our time obsessing about the most stupid things...like Trumps hair, or white male privilege. I am just urging ALL of you to focus...focus...focus!!! Even though hands may be waving to your left, saying "Look over here, not over there!" please don't be duped. Please think about what is really important.

Because we are fatalistic/realistic about it. The dinosaurs came and went and it didn't make much difference. When we leave, things will carry on, why get emotionally involved? Homo sapiens is a pretty crappy species anyway.
Peaches · F
@ButterFly2023 YES, seems we are hell bent on destroying ourselves?!😐
Niburu · 51-55, M
the health of the worlds oceans should be our biggest concern
the phytoplankton in the top few inches of water is where the main supply of the worlds oxygen comes from

@Niburu Last night I was thinking about buying my grandfathers' farm and moving back to Nebraska, but looking at your link, I see that his farm is within the circle of all three ash beds. Maybe I will rethink that...LOL!!!
In the past 2 days I have seen a news story one about farming kelp, from the Ocean, for food and the other about eel grass for food also. ??? @Niburu
4meAndyou · F
@softspokenman We must be very cautious, because we are Very foolish and Very greedy. Red Krill is being farmed right now to create specialty omega 3 supplements, depriving endangered whales of one of their only sources of food.
The inevitable will happen eventually. The only thing that we can rely on is each other.
4meAndyou · F
@softspokenman Education is not important? Undermined? Well...that sounds like a 20 paragraph topic. We should start a separate question so that it has importance and gets noticed.
I just saw a news item (local KRQE,cbs) what NASA is doing to get people on Mars 'sooner', 2 new designs of space craft, for 2020 launching. ???? @4meAndyou
4meAndyou · F
@softspokenman I posted an education discussion question for you. Let's go there.
SW-User
It will most likely be a combination of them all. Good news though Earth will carry on without us!
SW-User
@4meAndyou now you're being just plain old silly.
4meAndyou · F
@SW-User Well, that's a personal issue. 😉
Peaches · F
@4meAndyou Amen sister! 🙏🏼😔He gave us "fee will" and look at all that's happening around the world today?!
Peaches · F
That's why all this crazy sh!t is happening, to distract us from the REAL issues on this planet. 🌎😒Food prices are going through the ceiling! The next thing we'll hear is how crops are failing...
4meAndyou · F
@Peaches I don't think the above is necessarily why things are so crazy. I think we can thank the people in Congress and elsewhere who have GONE crazy and are dragging us with them.
Peaches · F
@4meAndyou Haha! 😄I suppose you are right!
It's disease thatwill terminate the lives of many.
4meAndyou · F
@EugenieLaBorgia Well, that's what they said about AIDs, too.
@4meAndyou This is different, Surfcrab. Trust me.
Peaches · F
@4meAndyou So true!

I recommend the following book:

"The Long Emergency: Surviving the End of Oil, Climate Change, and Other Converging Catastrophes of the 21st Century" by James Howard Kunstler

https://books.google.com/books/about/The_Long_Emergency.html?id=GV_lT_lQPYMC&printsec=frontcover&source=kp_read_button#v=onepage&q&f=false
4meAndyou · F
@Byron8by7 Thank you for the good post. I had been thinking you would have to Amish to survive.
Byron8by7 · M
@4meAndyou Many think the Amish will be more prepared than most of us.

Kunstler also wrote four novels, the "World Made By Hand" series, about life in the 21st century in a small town in upstate New York after the end of modern civilization. Interesting to contemplate.
4meAndyou · F
@Byron8by7 The Amish believe that their way of life is SO important that it was dictated to them by God. The Hopi Indians believe that they are the survivors of the destruction of the fourth world, and that the only way to survive the destruction of the fifth world is to live underground.

I spent every summer of my childhood on a farm in western Nebraska with so few modern conveniences we could almost have survived an emp.

It is seemingly easier to solve problems that don'resist or that are little more than annoyances instead of trying to solve grand scale problems. The problems you mention are just too big and quite for most people to grasp and deal with. It isn't immediate, it isn't easily.solved, and they are so big and abstract to people they just lose it.
4meAndyou · F
@MethDozer Whoa. Harsh...although I can understand in a limited way. I do know that modern medicine is creating a weaker, sicker species by preventing natural selection. That doesn't mean we can tell a young girl that she can never have children because she will pass on a rare form of cancer to her children. We think about it sometimes....but we can not become monsters.
MethDozer · M
@4meAndyou Nah that is true too.

I know it sounds cold and I am not really ready to go along with it. Yet I recognize we are weakening our genetics as a species and have removed our only natural population control mechanism. Not really ad advocating just acknowledging .
4meAndyou · F
@MethDozer Acknowledged.
