Statistics dont lie.

About 55.7 percent of eligible voters in the United States voted in the 2016 Presidential election. Of those, about 46.1 percent voted for Donald Trump. Now since, by definition 50% of Americans must be below average, that proves that statistically every person who voted for Trump is likely to be below average. Furthermore, the current president was put into office by around 20% of the electorate.
So the election was hijacked by a small minority of idiots and they elected a fool.. And no one has actually DONE anything about it.. Shame on you America! Shame.!😱
FreeSpirit1 · 51-55, F
The American people chose a non politician and he was running against one of the worst candidates the democrats have nominated in my lifetime. Simple as that in my opinion.
FreeSpirit1 · 51-55, F
@HoraceGreenley Well he can't spell college or gerrymandering and he thinks he's smarter than everyone else, so.......

So what you’re saying is of all “above average” Democrats only 9% of them voted in the 2016 election, the rest were too stupid to vote or they were to smart to vote for Hillary so they didn’t vote. By definition. And they want to blame it on the electoral votes even though the democrats always have an unfair advantage with the electoral votes. No one expected trump to beat out 17 other republicans but he did. My dog could have beaten Hillary. Normally democrats would vote for the devil himself as long as he was a democratic. Issues be damn. What does that say about their presidential candidate Hillary. Trump has balls of steel. He don’t take no $hit. There’s nothing fake about him. Our economy is booming tremendously because of him. He is doing something about all the major issues no other before him dared for fear of upsetting political correctness. He is not his parties robot like so many others before him. Name one democrat that has done better. Who among us is perfect. Who is without flaw. Who is the best. Who will fix all the major issues. Who! Do you want some wimpy pu$$y to be our president like Obama. HA HA Tell me who will finally get it done.
gregloa · 61-69, M
@bijouxbroussard leave me out of your lies. We’ll see how kind and proud history is of the democratic leadership Obama, Hillary, Pelosi, Warters, etc. etc. they have no agenda. Could care less about this country or the American people. Their only agenda is to bash Trump and take him down. At any cost. It’s going to backfire. Have a nice day while I refrain from calling you absurd uncalled for disgusting names.
@gregloa And I’m proud to be on that side of the aisle, in 2018. It’s about the promise of this country, inclusiveness, the great social experiment, that “melting pot” of diversity, vs. MAWA, Jim Crow revisited, incarcerated children and exclusion. The GOP loves to make the point that it was the Southern conservative Democrats who were responsible for fighting against the Civil Rights Movement and desegregation, with the GOP supporting it. But you can no longer claim that badge of honor; you no longer support those ideals. Trump has brought you full circle with people like Jefferson Sessions, whom the late Coretta Scott King fought to keep off of the Alabama Supreme Court bench because of his racist record disenfranchising black voters. Trump’s the one calling the KKK and Neo Nazis “fine people”. So your legacy with Trump will be forever tied in with that. And I’m not insulting you, this is really not personal at all. These are just a few home truths that I figure if you don’t know, you really should. 🤷🏽‍♀️

You are absolutely correct.. But that doesn't make the system right. @AMERICA1ST
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
@whowasthatmaskedman what's the alternative?
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
There are options.. Compulsory voting in a favorite of mine. It prevents voter apathy. But I think you have to get back to the nomination stage and qualify nominees differently. I don't think Trump or Clinton should have been the options.@HoraceGreenley

I am learning to just stay out of it
When my best friend basically jumps on me and says why he thinks the race to get the electoral collage votes ,is more fair than to wait for all votes to come in (absentee ballots too) ,and count every single vote ,I was at a loss for words (oh crap ,my buddy has lost his common sense too )
In my opinion "Then the people have actually spoken ",,with Gore /Bush they wanted chaffs and dimples recounted (and I guess we forget ballots found in the trash that didn't get counted but every single vote was recounted ,and no Presidents victory was announced until they were )
But by the standard we use ,Trump won ,I accept that
But when my best friend has veins popping over the process of the college .
A few times I had to catch myself not to remind him who he was speaking to .
a few years ago I would have dotted that eye yelling at me like that ,But instead I changed the subject to his Mom who is in a nursing home ,she was a corrections officer for 20 yrs and raised 3 kids alone ,were they just going to leave her there ,,,,they are .

I told my daughter when she came to pick me up to forgive me if I smelled like Poo ,,that I had to pull my buddy out of the Presidents rear to have a visit with him .
I went to visit to get a break from so much BS ,and stepped into "Invasion of the body snatchers "
My calm ,reasonable best friend is yelling at me ,
"Yea ,He might be a lying asshole ,but he is my asshole
And you have to admit he has really good taste in good looking women too ,
Have you seen his daughter ? she is so hot ,,,

Yea ,,Donald said she was too ,"were she not his daughter he would do her"

So I want to stay away from this one ,,I do not want to beat the crap out of my best friend for yelling at me over politics ,,but I will only tolerate so much before I put him in check as to who he is yelling at ,he used to know better LOL
I have never seen anything do such a good job at dividing our country
I have seen families divided over this election ,
And more politics come from the pulpit than when Pat Robertson wanted to be President
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
Sadly I agree.. Reasoned debate of the issues and standing for genuine principles seems to have fallen way out of favor.@rckt148

Mathematically incorrect. Politically sorta correct.

As an American who didn’t vote for the orange ass cheek with the bad wig, I’d appreciate it if people, bearing in mind a majority of voters voted for someone else, stopped saying this is “America’s” fault.
kate21 · 26-30, F
@ImDone exactly!

So people need to stop saying this is a,Erica’s fault and asking what this says about America or Americans.

All it says is a minority is what we already knew them to be.

At a personal level you are , of course, totally correct and I apologize without reservation for any offence caused to you. But at a global level the American public tolerated a corrupted system where favour can be bought along with justice and politics and business are hand in hand, with both having hands in the publics pockets. This system of Americas led directly to the election of Trump and the consequences for the American public and the world. The early days of America are filled with legends of great men who struggled and sacrificed to forge a superpower . Now it seems no one cares enough to keep it on the righteous path as long as you have a new flatscreen and cable. Everyone complains But no one DOES anything. Where is Boston Tea Party 2?@kate21

I don't think this analysis is accurate or helpful to your cause.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
Your point is valid. But luckily Trump is one of those polarizing figures in himself. You are either for or against. I am viewed as strongly against, which is fair, even though I believe Americans were left with really lousy options this time. My ruse this time was simply to make fun of the Trump camps use of numbers and issues and out and out lies and see who bit.. ..I'm content that no genuine political opinions were harmed in the making of this post. @Burnley123
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@whowasthatmaskedman FYI. I really really hate trump and I know people who will be going on the demo in London next Friday. I'd be there myself if it wasn't for work.

Are all his supporters beyond the pale? Are there understandable reasons (because of deep flaws and contradictions in American politics) why some people would have been conned into voting for that man?

I'd apply the same analysis to Brecit:an anti establishment vote which empowered something even worse.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
I suspect you and I could have a really good debate on both these points.. My objection to Trump predates his entrance to politics and related to his business dealings and ethics. Not the sort of person you want running a 7/11. Let alone a great nation.
As for Brexit, I believe its the right thing to do, but for all the wrong reasons in this case.@Burnley123
Groofydorkgerdo · 56-60, M
Is there any documentation that verifies these claims?
This isn't one of those things where people quote bunch of random numbers they found on some 2nd rate website, where nothing has links to websites with verifiable documentation?
To many Trump supporters doing this as well as Trump bashers.
If this seems confrontational or assertive, it is not intended to be.
I am just looking for actual proof behind sensationalist claims from both sides of these debate.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
The voter number stats are public record.. The rest is total B.S. to tick of Trump supporters of course.@Groofydorkgerdo

Can I ask why you wanted Clinton? Or better yet why you think Clinton is the lesser evil?
MrWarfare94 · 26-30, M
@HoraceGreenley she wanted to put a no fly zone over syria... That would have led to a war with russia most likely. And then would have brought other country's into it. Which would then be a 3rd world war.

Interesting post. I think you missed one fact. The one person most responsible for trump winning this election is Ms Clinton. Poorly run campaign. No clear message. And an assumption she would win easily so she didn't even visit some key swing states.

@whowasthatmaskedman President Trump is doing a great job!

After Obama's 1.48% GDP Growth for 8 years making him the first US President in history to have under 3% GDP Growth for his administration, I'll take the over 2.5% we've had so far. The estimate is for 5% GDP Growth for 2018. We need it badly.

As much as I like your sentiment, there isn’t anything in your stats that suggests the 50% below average are the people who voted for trump
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
Of course there isn't..😉. You noticed that.. You aren't a Trump supporter , are you?@Mildreadful
@whowasthatmaskedman I’m not american. But I can assure you I wouldn’t support him if I was
