Sarah Sanders, press secretary to President Trump, was asked to leave the Red Hen restaurant in Lexington Virginia last night .

She was asked to leave because of the man for whom she works. What are your thoughts or feelings about what happened to her?

Apparently the owner didn’t want to serve her and her party out of moral conviction.

With that said, I disagree. Just like I disagree with this...

@NoFuxGiven I will never forget the time I dined at a restaurant in Montreal (which was half empty). The maitre'd refused service to a family of Vietnamese, based on their race, lying to them, saying that all the tables were reserved and that they needed a reservation. My family hadn't a reservation, and for the next hour, no one came in or sat at those empty tables. The photo you posted, above, is just the kind of discrimination we want to avoid in this country. You can't discriminate based on race, religion, sexual affiliation or political affiliation. People are granted asylum to this country for any of those three reasons.

@NoFuxGiven He should wear a t-shirt that says, I’m stupid .

No shirt, no shoes, no integrity, no service.

Imagine the outrage if it had been anyone from Obama's administration

I think its sad we've come to this point, honestly.
WoodyAq · M
@MistyCee Yep. But here we are.
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
They should have let her and her family dine and provided her the best service possible. I’m a server and I would have given her my best with a smile (and you should know that I don’t like her).

Let karma serve her. Karma has no menu - she gets what she deserves.
hunkalove · 61-69, M
@SimplyTracie That was Karma. If a baker can refuse to make a gay cake, the restaurants can refuse to serve scumbags.
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@hunkalove Yes, they do have that right. I’m not disagreeing with you. I just saying that I would serve her or any gay person.

I was simply sharing my opinions.
Trump might be an idiot-wish he wasn't coming here-but this is plain wrong.And yes-restaurants can refuse service to anyone but where does this end?
WoodyAq · M
@TheSirfurryanimalWales Hopefully it ends with Trump, although I'm not hopeful.

I think politics is the biggest breeder of hate in this country right now. Which is disgraceful considering what a dirty business politics is..
I think it's ridiculous to go at people in government when they are acting as a private citizen.
@WoodyAq I guess for me there is a fork in the road. War? or reconciliation? Blowing apart bridges or building them?

We need to decide. We can't use the methods of war and reconciliation together.
WoodyAq · M
@CopperCicada Any compromise that involves accepting the unacceptable wrt lies, treason and corruption is a nonstarter for me.
@WoodyAq I guess there is a difference between ordinary citizens and government policy/policy makers. And I guess there is a difference between compromise and reconciliation.

There is also full social and political war. That is an option.
A business is a business and should serve the public even if they don't like what they stand for.
Personal feelings should never enter into running a business. That is not acting in a professional manner.
4meAndyou · F
@GingerPeach Some of the photos on this post drive home the truth of what you say.
@4meAndyou Yes they do.
hunkalove · 61-69, M
That's great!
Makes me happy

Most places of business has a sign posted that says that they have the right to refuse service to anyone

@MarineBob
Most places of business has a sign posted that says that they have the right to refuse service to anyone
Yes, a lot do. They can post a sign that they'll only serve people who strip naked before entering, too.

My point is that just because they can post a sign doesn't make what is printed on that sign legal.

4meAndyou · F
@beckyromero You go, girl.
katielass · F
I guess the left doesn't want our money.
4meAndyou · F
@katielass Obviously deplorable money...LOL!!
katielass · F
@4meAndyou Well, the left might demonstrate an intolerance for historical figures who held the same views as everyone at that time they have not abandoned the almighty dollar.

Only the left is dumb enough to turn down business from paying customers
WoodyAq · M
@4meAndyou You may or may not be right on the smarter part. They certainly know more about the law. This wasn't a legal question though. It's whether it is smart to turn down business.

The poster said only a left-winger would be dumb enough. I was merely pointing out that his statement wasn't true.

@strongbow
Only the left is dumb enough to turn down business from paying customers
How are you with 'Christians' turning away cake business?
4meAndyou · F
@HerKing The supreme court ruled that a baker can choose not to create art (as in cake decoration) for a marriage choice prohibited by his or her religion, as long as the baker in question has not refused to sell any of the other (not art related) products in his or her bakery to the same couple. I tend to respect the decisions of the supreme court.
