Kick Rosenstein in the rear?
Have Pence challenge Rosenstein to a duel?
Send "special" chocolate cream pie?
Send Navy Seals?
Leave Rosenstein alone, because he is in charge of the country?
Light fire under wussie Congress so they will impeach Rosenstein?

So, the committee in Congress that provides oversight for the Dept. of Justice (DOJ), can NOT get Rod Rosenstein to turn over two or three really crucial documents. He just won't do it. Now we are hearing stories on the news (true or not) that Rod Rosenstein is threatening the Congressional Committees' staff members, saying he will subpoena THEIR emails and records.

Sorry this is so long...(leading up to it). So my question is really this. Who or what is in charge when an employee of the DOJ violates the US constitution and refuses to obey the directions given to him by the Congress, which is in charge of his oversight? Can they call in the army? Can Pence go over to the DOJ and slap Rosenstein across the face with a glove? Can Jeff Sesions go up behind Rosenstein and kick his lunch up the other end?

I mean, if they put me in charge, I would light his pants on fire....but I don't think Congress can do that....even though it might work.

The Congressional Committee involved has talked about impeaching Rod Rosenstein, but apparently they just can't bring themselves to really do it because they are wussies. They have been talking about it for over a month, but Rod scares them.

In the meantime, if I have to hear about snot- nosed Rosenstein defying the legitimate authority of the Congress of the United States one more time, I am going to consider a complete and total news embargo. OR.............I could send Rosenstein one of those "special" chocolate cream pies....LOLOL!!!

Congressional committees do have oversight responsibility, but in the current hyper-political era, they have abdicated that responsibility to act instead as a partisan extension of the Executive Branch to ferret out information to give to the president so he can circumvent a legal investigation into his activities. That's never happened in our history, and if it continues it will eliminate one of the two checks on presidential power (the other being the Supreme Court).

To answer your question, the Supreme Court will have to decide whether the DOJ has to provide the requested information on an ongoing investigation when Congress abdicates their constitutional power and instead functions as part of the Executive Branch.

@windinhishair I hate Congress. I'd like to string most of them up by their thumbs...😝(JK) (not really).

@4meAndyou Congress has gotten worse and worse with time. They really are scumbags.

@windinhishair Yes...well...I sure would like to run for Senate. I'd just eat out every day, have three or four months a year vacation, go around with my hand out to all the businesses, get rich speaking at universities and writing books, and whenever I saw an actual American citizen I'd do things to him or her that you wouldn't do to a dog.

Ron DeSantis, Matt Gaetz and Jim Jordan along with Devin Nunes was on Fox News last night. they said they have 2 options. Impeach Rosenstein or have the president DEMAND the docs. remember that Nunes is the HEAD of the Intel community AND has been working on this for over a year.

also remember that the dems will block any impeachment. So the easiest solution is for the President to DEMAND the docs. Hannity said last night (EXACT words) let me get this straight gentlemen...you need the President to Demand the docs?" and they all 4 said yes. now my feeling is that the President was watching. apparently one of them sent the President a letter 2 weeks ago.
todaythe IG report comes out. it goes to the Pres in the afternoon. buckle up.

@4meAndyou LOL. you make me laugh because I feel the same way! i would fire his ass.

@akindheart After hearing the President on the news today, it seems that Rosenstein is blaming it all on the FBI, even though the FBI is supposed to answer directly to HIM. This buck has been passed so much it is only worth a nickel.

@4meAndyou now that is funny. you see once the house of cards starts to unfold, they each turn on each other. love it!!!

DOJ technically reports to the president but they do have to answer to congress as the constitution gives congress the power/authority to oversee DOJ, since they created the DOJ. The president is wise to stay out of this for obvious reasons but not to worry the complete truth will emerge and the guilty will be held accountable. I predict before all this is over little rod will be out of a job, if not indicted for his part in obtaining a FISA warrant under false pretenses. Remember, the courts can force the release of the papers unredacted and then his little effort to protect others will be exposed.

@MichaelJT
Have the Capitol Police (a division of the Secret Service) take him into custody and jail him until he changes his mind. I believe Congress can order this done.
Contempt of Congress... arrest him yes, start impeachment proceedings.

Congress hasn't arrested someone for contempt since 1935. Time to do it again.

@4meAndyou Again I hit post comment before I was finished.

But we the people also increasingly do not hold our employees accountable. Polls demonstrate pretty much everyone hates DC but most people like their own senator and rep, it's all those other guys who are the problem. Uh, no, its not those other guys, its all of them. Every last one of them. But we're going to continue to get the bottom of the barrel until enough of us wake up and say NO! No more shit from you people. We're the bosses, not you. We send you to DC to do as you're told.
4meAndyou · F
@katielass Yay Katie!!! GOOD rant! LOLOL!!! Seriously, I think we need a much better vetting process for people who want to run for office.
katielass · F
@4meAndyou well, it's incumbent on us to keep up but it seems like the more "time saving" gadgets we invent the less time we have. How does that work out that way.
