Private Military Corporations (PMCs). Your opinion?

Tracos · 51-55, M
Mercenaries? Warriors for the highest bidder? Their only loyalty to those who pay?...
Xuan12 · 31-35, M
@Tracos They do exert force of arms in exchange for money.
Tracos · 51-55, M
I think they should be illegal

One of the largest in the world, is run by our very own Sec. of Education, De Vos. Big Trump donors

Corporations already rival governments in many arenas, granting them their own military forces would lead to the end of civilization as we know it.
Xuan12 · 31-35, M
@VeronicaPrincess PMCs are real already. They aren't military branches of other corporations either, they are solely dedicated military corporations. Generally they work for third and second world governments as supplements to their own armed forces, but occasionally have contracts with first world nations as well.
VeronicaPrincess · 61-69
@Xuan12 That's part of the reason those countries are "third world". "First world" nations that embrace the PMC's will themselves devolve into "third world" oppression & poverty.

you mean those that don't need to care about international laws or treaties the moment they become sufficiently powerful? Because they don't have liabilities like paying pension to the retired?

Very much against it.

Halliburton is one of the reasons for the screw up in Iraq.

Guns for hire...just like the other criminals.

I think they have a place doing private security in warzones but am dead against how they are used to get around military red tape and as soldiers without the rules in our war machine.
