Political views often reflect very closely a person's values. Especially in today's political climate. That is what you run into, and that is why people are typically going to argue with you.

Perhaps, but not all of us. I get along quite well with several people whom I disagree with politically. That's because we are able to set politics aside and see each other as more than our political views.
