She brings up very valid points

There were also numerous headlines and new stories about the officers. What she says is patently false. But what would it matter? Because on story didn't make a big enough splash we should ignore others?

Social injustice and inequality will always command a bright light. And it should until we sufficiently change it.
MethDozer · M
@GraylightMakeing arguments that are nothing but streams of ifs and chances is nothing.
Graylight · 51-55, F
@MethDozer I understand, but you have to admit there's a point to be made here. If people like me - middle class white women - were being accosted at places like Starbuck's by the police, it'd be all over the nightly news. MUCH more so than black men being told to leave.
MethDozer · M
@Graylight You might have point if it wasn't for the fact it was all over the nightly news.
Fallflower · 46-50, F
Sorry I don’t know her or her show. But she is saying the police story got no news coverage while showing images of the news story. It doesn’t make a lot of sense to me.
@Fallflower Of course it was mentioned, probably more locally than nationally. It's definitely not gotten the press coverage the starbucks nonsituation has.
Fallflower · 46-50, F
@AcidBurn ok she has a point but should be more clear with that, otherwise she’s just being disingenuous. I just took a look at my news app and see the story about Starbucks (they’re getting free tuition to Arizona state now??)
I’m traveling and not paying attention to the news atm

How about the muslim kid in Plano, Texas who was arrested before he could carry out his evil plan to shoot people at the Stonebrier Mall in Frisco, Texas and set the stores on fire. Haven't seen a word about that except in the local newspaper. Maybe if he had been a white kid.....

Opinion masquerading as fact ! FAKE NEWS !
Northwest · M
@Harley4Life
lol ok bud. You do realize she is correct
No, she is not correct. She was very selective, when describing part of the events that occurred at Starbucks. She was also lying when she said that there was no reaction to the shooting of cops.

More importantly, these things are not mutually exclusive, but racists love to package it all up in an all or nothing shit box.
@Northwest yes she is you simply choose not to see it because it doesnt fit with your idealogy
Northwest · M
@Harley4Life My ideology?

She's presenting a mutually exclusive narrative, and in that imaginary world, that you seem to be living in as well, there's only one choice: if you're pro human rights, you must be anti cop.

It looks like you're the one who's pushing a fallacy.

Interesting but very one sided
Jackaloftheazuresand · 26-30, M
Thanks, I love police
MethDozer · M
She is dead nuts correct about that Starbucks bullshit. Those guys were just looking to make problems and act entitled.

@windinhishair Where is the evidence it was only enforced on.black.men? That's mere speculation and he fact corporate said they agree is meaningless since it always comes down to what is best for the brand.

You're making statement with your uppity comment and making a false equivalency about Jim Crow era busing.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@MethDozer Since you say this happens all the time, show me where it happened to whites, at this store or another. You can't, and corporate admitted that they were wrong.

Don't like the busing analogy? Here's another one that could happen in your version of a perfect world. Airlines have the right to change your seating to balance out a plane by shifting weight forward or aft as needed. What if in doing so, which they have a perfect right to do, they only select blacks and other minorities to go to the back of the plane and move whites to the front? Perfectly legal to move people. I assume you'd have no problem segregating races since they have the right to arrange seating?
MethDozer · M
46 in one year? That's not teabag actually. I thought it would be a high .number
@MethDozer It will be this year under the name of social justice.
MethDozer · M
@AcidBurn 46 nationwide really isn't that crazy a number.
Way safer than working say a construction trade.

They probably could get it down to ten if they weren't fighting the stupid drug war.
