If the democracts win in the midterms, does this mean impeachment for Trump?!

Since I’m ignorant in political procedures, I’m curious about this possible event.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M Best Comment
Essentially, yes. By the time the midterms results are in and the Democrats gain a majority, trump's time will be limited. Personally, being the weasel, cry-baby, and failed businessman that he is, I predict he will simply resign while blaming everyone else including his "beloved" (cult-like) followers and Michael Cohen.

Hopefully, a year from now Trump will be in prison.
@hunkalove interesting thought!
Jibby · 56-60, C
Whatever the hell label you want to put on it impeachment or whatever. He'll be there for 7 more years. I'm one of the people that will help that cause
Graylight · 51-55, F
@Jibby Privatized hospitals are corporations designed to make money. What do you think will happen to veterans' benefits when they're handed over to the same people the charge $200 for what can be bought on Amazon for $3?
Xuan12 · 31-35, M
@Jibby War huh? Is your life in America so bad that you'd risk your life to kill others?
@HerKing plz forgive my ignorance but...I have a pm?!! Plz explain?!!!!
Wubaloo · M
remember just because someone is impeached, does not mean that person is or will be removed from office. It would take more than an impeachment to remove Mr. Trump from office. Clinton was impeached for lying, yet he rode out his full term.
Wubaloo · M
@Shewolfiie69 I would believe that completely.. Trump has more skeletons in his closet than most and its going to be hard for him to continue his daily routine of lie and attack to keep people distracted enough to not pay attention to who he really is.
tenente · 100+, M
@Wubaloo do you think Trump will get impeached? i have the idea those dirty politicians will hold the impeachment stick over his head and use it as leverage to make Trump do as they please...
Wubaloo · M
i thought he would early on.. but the more days go by, the more it looks like its going to take more than impeachment. I cannot imagine this president being more than a one-term phenomenon. And before anyone labels me as a hardline Clinton supporter, I didn't think she was qualified for this job either. It was most disconcerting that the Democrats and Republicans could only come up with these two people as their best choices.
He won't be impeached, but the House will conduct endless investigations into every aspect of his administration and personal life. If you thought the inquiries into Benghazi and Her Emails were bad, you ain't seen nothin' yet. Congress has the power to compel any citizen to give testimony, release documents, whatever they want. The first order of business will be a line by line review of every tax return Trump has ever filed, and that's just the beginning. Let's see how he does under 11 straight hours of grilling by Adam Schiff or Maxine Waters.

@TheeOriginalEXLover And you sound brainwashed. Trump not only hasn't accomplished anything, expecially considering that he has a Republican Congress, he's also a terrible administrator. And based on his rambling call to Fucks and Friends the other day, he may very well be suffering from dementia. But you people are completely oblivious. It's why Cheeto Jesus is a good name for him; you sheep worship him like he's your savior or something.

I doubt it. There's not a lot of support for impeachment within the Democratic establishment. And even if he were to be impeached, I can't image they'll gain enough seats in the Senate to convict.
@DunningKruger thx for ur insight!!!!
Contrary to popular belief President Trump has not done anything that justifies impeachment
HerKing · 61-69, M
@Shewolfiie69 No-one other than Mueller knows what Mueller has..It makes me laugh how Trump continually bleats 'No Collusion' and his cult repeat the mantra. They have no idea what is going to happen. And collusion will be the least of his problems going on the convictions that have already happened with his former posse.
@HerKing Amen to the enth degree!!!!
@Harley4Life so says u!!! Lol! U do not have all the facts and neither do I ok? Mueller will or already had!!!!

@PixieCutLover the EC prevents a few areas from Being able to influence an election . Such as California . Each state is given a number of electoral votes dependant on population density . The popular vote in each state determines where the electoral votes go .

Trump won't get impeached. I know lots of people hope so but he would have to do something "while in office" to get impeached and he has done nothing wrong while in office. Sure has has done things before but right now he is just being president and working at that. Every president has made mistakes becoming the person they were. We as a nation have just gone too far in our judgement and acceptance of people we put in office. People assume too much. Mueller really has nothing on Trump because there is nothing there. I know many people hope there is but there just isn't. If there was anything, it would have hit the news by now and everyone would know.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@joesand99 We won't be able to work together until we find a leader who wants to and is capable of bringing us together... or sadly until a crisis occurs that forces us together. I want the leader option.
joesand99 · 41-45, M
@MarkPaul Valid point but I truly believe that we need tolerance in our mindsets. Once a president is elected then let's work with what we have instead of just fighting all the time. It isn't the leader as much as it is the public that elected the leader.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@joesand99 Based on history, what you recommend is a recipe for an authoritarian take-over. Democracy is not for the faint-of-heart. It is intended to be messy, encourage in-fighting, and avoid enforced mindset toleration. It is why democracy is on the decline around the world. It requires people to get off their fat asses and speak out for what they believe. The very nature of checks and balances is intended to prevent becoming complacent with what we have.
carsonfry · 22-25, M
I hope not, he is the best thing God has given to the USA in decades. Finally a man that stands up for his fellow man, and to some degree, GOD.
HerKing · 61-69, M
@carsonfry God? Oh my.. Delusion is strong in this one..It seems your god has a particularly sick sense of humour.
@HerKing can u believe what some are saying? All of the undeniable facts aren’t in yet! I take issue using Gods name in the filth of politics!!!
HerKing · 61-69, M
@Shewolfiie69 It seems too their particular god, although he's blessed the right wing evangelicals with rank hypocrisy, he's also blessed Trump with an invisibility cloak that he puts on just before he fucks porn actresses and any other woman that he happens to think he can get lucky with, whether they want to or not.. The invisibility means the Right Wing evangelicals don't choke on their wine and wafer in church.
carsonfry · 22-25, M
Trump is the must positive force for peace on this Earth that has come out for the USA since Reagan.

Peace does not come from appeasement, it comes from strength and the ability to use it.

Every other president has appeased these dictators and begged them to be good if we give them some money.

They keep the money, and the residents get nothing, and they keep doing what they were already doing.

Trump is putting an end to it, just as Jesus did the end of the Money Changers.

Nor more fake deals, no more money for nothing.
Graylight · 51-55, F
@carsonfry Well, there it is - likening Trump to Jesus. Tell me, is there a life size cardboard cut-out of him in your church?
Ynotisay · M
@carsonfry Wow. Just wow.
🤦 Religion, God and Jesus haven't been doing very well even with "In God We Trust", "God Bless America" and Trump And 'Pence' swearing on the Bible as they took the oath of office. Thou shalt not lie, commit adultery, bear false witness, or covet. Really @carsonfry ?
Don't think so.
I remember nixon. He was disliked by most of the population at the time disliked him they also had a lot of evidence..including his own recordings where he obstructed justice.

The same doesn't seem the case. Half the country likes him and Congress has to go back and Get reelected.

Then there is the time element. Takes some time and momentum to oust a sitting president.

I wonder if he will get the support of his party for a renomination though.
@approachingmyexpirationdate interesting thought! And...hello there my friend!!!
@Shewolfiie69 good to see you ..as always.
Graylight · 51-55, F
He committed no impeachable offense.
HerKing · 61-69, M
@LeopoldBloom The yet is the thing...No-one knows what Mueller knows, The GOP aren't interested.. They have rolled over and adopted a supine reverence to Trump because he values loyalty to HIM above anything or anyone else, and they have complied with that. There's a fat kid in NK who has a similar self appraisal.
@HerKing I guarantee, Mueller hasn't been sitting in his office playing Tetris this whole time. He has something.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
At his age? Shingles 🤔 @LeopoldBloom
Northwest · M
If he committed an impeachable offense, it doesn't matter who's in charge of Congress. Otherwise, control of Congress does not mean automatic impeachment, simply a slow down, or complete shutdown of the political process, like the GOP did for the last 4 years of President Obama's presidency.
@Northwest thx! I appreciate ur knowledge in this matter!

@TheeOriginalEXLover A professional athlete? No wonder you aren't able to rub two neurons together and spark an actual thought. I would explain to you why you're wrong, but honestly, you simply aren't worth my time, as I doubt you'd be able to understand what I was saying or be willing to accept actual facts over your bigotry. I've wrung about as much amusement as I can out of you.

Trump has done nothing wrong. It is a witch hunt. One that has been in operation for a year and a half too long. I want to know how our government has the budget to do stupid shit like this, and study if lobsters like to climb stairs under sea.

All of this is a waste of taxpayer money. They get paid more than we do, no wonder they do not quit.
HerKing · 61-69, M
@Graylight Don't bring facts into it, Trumpers can't deal with facts. ☺
@HerKing why do u think they avoid or rather eat glass to discuss facts?!!!!
HerKing · 61-69, M
@Shewolfiie69 I'd like to do an experiment and just list various indiscretions, accusations, actual wrong doing (such as fraud, not paying bills, fake universities etc) without putting a name to each line in the list, and ask a Trumper which they think disqualifies a person being in a position of power over a country.. It would be very interesting to see the results.
Search : NY times list of Trump lies.
I do realize that it's not the National Inquirer which would NEVER print Any "FAKE NEWS" about Anything@nedkelly.
nedkelly · 61-69, M
@softspokenman I suppose any supporter of Hillary believes her email story
I'm not a supporter of Hillary, never was or of politicians that are liars, no matter which party, either.@nedkelly

The best option is to get out and vote in November . The “ BLUE WAVE” seems to be drying up ... and just like in 2016 , the support for libs has been grossly overstated
@TexChik time will tell! The Blue Wave has not & will not dry up! Also, didn’t anyone tell u that there’s no such thing as witches?!!!!
TexChik · F
@Shewolfiie69 witches? Who said anything about witches ? As far as the Blue wave ... it’s never really started ...there’s only the media hatemongering and washington libs lying ... tgecfirzt midterns are alway tough for a new president , but in this case there’s a lot of very tangible issues on the line .
beckyromero · 36-40, F
Perhaps, but it may all but guarantee him a second term. (meaning House impeaches, but Senate fails to convict).

Unless Mueller has a video of Trump kissing Putin's ass.

Dems need to focus on issues.

So far all they have is "Russia. Russia! RUSSIA!"

Sounds a lot like this:

jackjjackson · 61-69, M
All accurate and good points. @beckyromero
@beckyromero They don't need to impeach him, and even Maxine Waters is toning that talk down. Although a lot of Democratic voters will be disappointed. But impeachment is, as you point out, not a sure thing, and the last thing we want is to set up a scenario where every time the president is a different party than congress, he's impeached. The Clinton impeachment was complete bullshit, but at the time it was obviously the Republicans paying back the Democrats for Nixon. So let's not start another 25 year feud again. Besides, we're protected from a great deal of Trump's malevolence by his sheer incompetence. Mike Pence as president would do far more damage.
beckyromero · 36-40, F
@LeopoldBloom I agree with most of what you said.

Re: Rep. Maxine Waters

In late April she said of Trump:

"Please resign. So that I won't have to keep up this fight of your having to be impeached because I don't think you deserve to be there."

"Just get out."

http://thehill.com/homenews/administration/384754-maxine-waters-to-trump-please-resign
TexChik · F
The house likely would impeach him to try and further obstruct him. Doubtful
He’d get convicted .
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
I don't think so. While they might be more support for impeachment with the addition of additional Democrats it can't be done without significant support from Republicans.

I just don't see it happening. The Russian "collusion" story is clearly not supported by the evidence found so far, and it seems like they are just throwing whatever they can at Trump and none of it is going anywhere.
@SumKindaMunster I guess it’ll all come out in the wash?!
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
Probably, but hard to tell. I refuse to predict anything.
@CountScrofula sounds very wise to say indeed! Thx!
jackson55 · M
They wish, but no.
therighttothink50 · 56-60, M
on what grounds?
I doubt it, but my guess is, Mueller would finish his investigation a lot quicker if the threat of impeachment was a little stronger in the event Trump elects to bury it.
nedkelly · 61-69, M
Democrats should be worried about how to win the next election and having a united front to defeat the republicans
HerKing · 61-69, M
@nedkelly On that we can agree...A healthy democracy needs healthy opposition.
Xuan12 · 31-35, M
Possible, but not probable. It would it would finish off his term though.

no it doesn't - impeachment is distinct and removed from majority government.
